Yes, moly is good for older cars, but most synthetic have a bit of it. Not as much as maxlife, but it is there. Maxlife also comes in synthetic. I thin maxlife is the best bang for your buck on older cars, but there are better oils, although those are not going to MAKE your car run longer or anything of that nature. Switch to synthetic oil is fine for higher millage cars. The only thing that it can damage is the carbon deposits that have accumulated in the engine, which there should be any unless the car was ran with a detergent free oil.
I think I've even seen Mobil1 full synthetic for higher mileage engines.

So is it like Rodeo Sex? You know, where you’re with a girl from behind and then you whisper in her ear that her sister’s boobs feel firmer and have to hold on for more than 8 seconds.
Is there anything wrong with just going to Honda and buying the oil and filter from there? That's what I do... but I honestly know nothing about cars.

I paid $18 for the oil and filter... I think that's pretty damn good if you ask me. I'm curious as to whether the oil and filter are good in quality. You think it would be considering it's coming from the dealer, but then again you think it would be overpriced coming from them too but in my opinion it was priced well.
Quality of their oil and filter?

The oil will vary, but rest assured it is decent oil and your engine will live a long healthy life. A few dealerships around me use Exxon Superflo, others i know have used castrol gtx. Honda oil filters aren't bad, but they're not the best either. They're certainly good enough to get the job done. Also, I agree that $18 is a great deal.
Im reading this post and I think its the same one that was talking about OEM filters being made by FRAM.
I asked one of our ooold techs about them being made by fram and he did say they were made by fram. They have the same cardboard endcaps like frams.
We also carry an aftermarket oil filter that actually seems better than the OEM it has metal end caps and a metal bypass the filter element is actually longer and wider too!
I have a pic ill post it later i have to get it off my phone.
And to talk about what kind of oil honda uses. It varries from different hondas. I mean some are corporate owned and some are not.
We do not use a synthetic blend we use regular penzoil 5w20.
