I have always gone to one of those quick lube places because I knew someone and he made sure everything was done right. This morning he calls me and tells me he quit for an office job, so that got me thinking should I just do my own oil changes from now on?
I was just wondering what everyone here does? And if your do your own which brand of oil and filters do you use?
damn makes me think one day the guy who does my alignments will quit. same with the lady who cuts my hair. damn it would suck.

Just bought me an oem honda filter and a couple crush washers
and 4 qts of 5w20 Royal purple oil (listen to the manuf. they designed the engine's cleareances..They know it needs 5w20 Use 5w20...now winter conditions is a different story) Anyway
I live in cornelius..its aka lake norman.....Rich Area...I asked for a quote on 4 qts in this area and they wanted 8.75 a qt!!
But I ended up goin to another town mooresville and i paid 5.75 about 24.XX with tax
Great oil I love the stuff...(ive actually gone from RP to mobile 1 and noticed after i changed the m1 out that it burned up alot quicker than the Royal purple oil had.) Royal purple for life.
I have a question. I have been using Mobil 1 10W-30 for over 50,000 miles now and was wondering if it would be ok to switch back to 5W-20? I was just wondering if I will do any damage to the engine if I do that? the temps in the summer get up to almost 100 and down to about 30 in the winter here. I used to think thicker oil was better, but after going through school, I learned that it wasnt.

ok here is a quick question; when transporting used oil to a disposal site, what do you want to take it in? what kind of container is ok? The old bottles? That would be a pain?
An old empty gallon jug of iced tea?

I use a 1 gallon milk jug, I guess everybody else does too, because when I drop it off, there is about 100 of the milk jugs there.
