sounds good guys im looking to get an emanage rather than a safc because i know with the ignition harness and the precise fuel setting the emanage is a precise tool and now you guys locked me in since you got it up and running on an ex. Props. your my heros. any way to take some final screen shots of the setting and the install of the wiring itself?
So, would you recommend an e-manage or a VAFC2 or possibly even both? I've been thinking about getting the VAFC2 for awhile now, but not too sure.
Depends on your mods. I had the VAFC2 before and loved it. It's a great SIMPLE unit. For fuel and VTEC only, the VAFC2 is a nice piece. But if you want even more fuel adjustment, and the ability to control ignition timing, injector pulse, sub injectors, and fuel-by-boost tuning, the Emanage is for you.
e-MANAGE it's self is ok. The Suport Tool is what makes it shine. THAT is what makes that unit. The ease of control is nice. It takes a little getting used to, but works great.
sorry most likely a stupid question...but whats the point of the emanage? any reason to get it if ur completely stock or its only useful after you get mods....
But what didn't make sense to me before has proved to be and issue. The car runs great. But notice in that last attatchment there was nothing in the fourth box. It has to say VTM because that's what switches over the VTEC. Problem is, when you do this, VTEC fails and you get a CEL. 4-8-E works because there's no VTEC being engaged on the motor, even though the emanage thinks it's engaged. I can't even peel out in 1st gear because of this, and that's the same boost I was peeling out before the install in second gear.
I'll mess with the settings more tomorrow and thursday and let you guys know what my conclusion is. Sorry for the inconvenience.
thanks for the heads up. I hope everything works out. But wouldn't the VTEC not engauging be like having a VTEC eliminating cam? i thought not having vtec is better for boost?(guess not sincce you can't spin first)
It's better if you have a cam meant for not having VTEC. But when the 1st cam is a grind for lower rpms, you still need something for the top end.
I messed with thtis thing all morning, with diff rotary settings, software settings, and whatnot... Nothing but problems. 4-8-E is no VTEC but the engine runs incredibly well at low-mid rpms. I'll be resetting the emanage and wiring it to only control fuel and timing. I liked where my stock VTEC was and didn't have intentions on changing it anyway. I'll post up more updates again.
