is AEM CAI hard enough to install that you can easily mess up??
or is it fairly simple enough that I wouldn't have to pay someone to do it??

i'd do it myself. instructions come with the CAI. you should look at the DIY for clear headlights so you know how to remove the bumper. anything can be done correctly if you put enough time into it, besides it will give you a chance to learn more about your car. moreover, if you paid someone else to do it, they will be in the same situation as you since this is a new generation civic

EDIT: sorry bout the "taking off the bumper".... i guess you don't have to

You can do it, just make sure you have the correct tools. You don't have to remove the bumper.

AEM gives you good instructions. They even tell you exactly how to remove the stock parts and have good pics for the installation. The Short Ram was easy, and I think the CAI is just more pipe going up front for cold air. Get the kit, read the instructions and look at your underhood setup and then you can decide if you can do it.

Just get a 10mm socket and extension, it should take all of about 15 mins to take the old off and put on the new.

If you have a friend that is also knowledgable about cars (or even if he isn't) do it yourself. Also, I didn't have to remove the front bumper to install the intake with the K&N

Do it yourself! It takes like an hour if your slow and the directions are easy to follow. Why waste money on something that easy?
