d17a2 engine swap into 95 hb

hello i was wondering how much conversion would be needed to put a 2001 honda civic engine d17a2 in my 95 hatchback.
i currently have a 95 d15b sohc vtec engine in there with a d16y8 port and polish head and all the natural aspirateds mods you can think of in there, i/h/e, clutch flywheel, fpr, 70mm throttle body, obx intake manifold because i can get one very very cheap and just thinking aboutn this, i also have some zc pistons can these work in that engine ? can i just use the bottom end of the d17 and put the d16 head on it ? or no ? i wanna build a natural aspirated minime setup

i dont think the d15b parts will work in the d17 motor. and it sounds like u have a decent motor right now, SOHC VTEC with some internals and boltons. why go to a SOHC VTEC motor that doesnt have many internals out for it and dont reponse very well to bolt ons? kinda sounds pointless to me.

I'd rather stay with that D15 considering all you have done to it. If you're gonna go to the trouble of swapping, go with a B- or K-series motor. You'll be a lot happier with your results.

yeh im gonna just get a d16 bottom end then since everything i have can work on it and put the zc pistons in and create a high compression na monster with 12 or 13 compression ratio but i was just thinking about the d17 because i can get it much cheaper and it has 7lbs more torque

Yeah. It might have 7lbs more torque, but it's also got no response to mods and no aftermarket.

this might sound stupid.
but why?!

theres a reason why people are swapping our engines with k20s or boosting.
there are so many other engines out there that will be alot more cost effective.

Honestly... our D17 nor will the K series fit under his hood. Its pointless to do the install anf if you would want to your dumb because for the same cash you can get a motor that will fit like a B16 or B18 and be 30 times faster!

The K does fit. There's mounts for DC2, EK, and EGs coming out now and in the next several months. Dimensionally, the K20 is actually smaller than a B-series.
