so let me get this rite, u wanna paint ur tail to black? in other words, smoke ur tails? if thats the case, theres a 7gc member that does a great job on smokin tails, forgot the username though....search member's ride, u'll find it
you could put back in your stock tails, or whichever tail you perfer and buy this transparent tailight paint. you're supposed to just spray it on. the more coats you have the darker it'll go, and light is still able to show through. my friend did this to his car and it looks good.
thank you guys for the support.....i already tried prying them apart but the silicone they use on tailights are stronger than the headlights......i will try the oven thing but wouldn't that damage the inside?
*if it works on headlights it should work for taillights also*
try it @ 100-150degrees for a few minutes...that should make it softer and easier to disassemble...if its still tough, put them back in for a bit longer
NO....the altazza tail light's cover is hard to take off!!! the tail light used glue to seal them....they are not like the stock front light's cover can take them off so easily....i got a pair of angle ring altazza tail lights and want to paint it black inside....but i fxxx up them!! i broke the cover so badly even though i do it so careful....then......it ended up i have to put my stock tail light back on and throw the altazza away ....T_T
it's a biatch, but take your time and it works..i painted a border around the edges of the clear lens so you can't see where it was pry'd on the inside

regardless of your mishap, it can be done...just takes some time and patience
damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I sooooooo f(ucked up my taillights i tried using a hair blow drier and that didnt work then i tried the oven and that didnt work either, jackal903 was so right those tailights are glued now i broke one of them but i am thinkin of another thing now.....instead of throwing them away im thinkin of sprayin the reflectors with clear coat then paint the back ground black and leave them as 3d tailights if u know what i mean........post ur thoughts guys!
i know rider (green 7thgen) made his apc 3-rings 3d style by taking off the cover and painting the housing... but i think you would have a water problem
