tires were owned by the time i got home. alignment was way off. positive toe was like 10 degrees or some shit. they said that ziptie-ing the brake lines and stuff would cause me to end up in a fiery death. sayin that it might come loose and get caught or rub enough for the brake lines to break and me ending up with no brake and crashing. having a parent there too doesnt help
they are technically right though.

that's what i would of done. brought it to a machine shop, but that's me. Actually i would of just bought a different set.
well see what you can do about that though, it is pretty dangerous for have it like that. I mean if you were to zip tie it to cause it not to rub while still having it bolted onto the car then it's fine, but since you're actually using hte zip tie as the mount, that's pretty scary.
you couldn't wait til the tech meet huh..had to get it on..haha
did you SLAM that shit?

they will do it. My coils are all the way down and they do my car.
they lay down rubber mats or wooden blocks to get your car up to the ramp.
the owners are bitches though, they lie, cheat and anything to get money from you.
the mechanics (most of them) are really cool.
ask for "carlos" i usually ask for him since he's a nice guy, but for some reason everytime i ask for him to work on my car, the owners inside get all stupid and say it'll take longer and lbah blah blah since he's busy.
the thing is, he's sitting outside and he was the one who told me to tell them to have him do it...they are STUPID!
i have lifetime alignment there, which is hte only reason why i go back, had it since 2003 and it get it free everytime to piss them off! pretty cool.
i had lifetime balancing and rotation on all/any tires then out of no where they said policy has changed and it was only for that particular tire that was on the car before...so i got cheated.

the zip tie is fine...the brake lines doesn't move. The koni's i bought for my integra didnt have a oem mount for the brake lines. The brakes line are rubber and dont move so there relatively light. A zip tie is fine..long as you position it correctly. Thats not the reason, brakes have nothing to do with an alignment...wheel bearings have nothing to do with a alignment.
They just said that crap to scare you since they thought you didnt know anything about cars. Its one of those situations where you have to bitch the guy out to get what you want. He was just trying to get out of doing it, probably cuz it was toward the end of the day and he figured it would take a lot more work then he thought it would be and he wanted to go home.

did ken just bring it there for an alignment that's it?
if that's the only reason why he brought it there, i see no reason why that guy was giving him shit about his brake lines anyways.
and the brakes lines do move everytime you turn the wheel.
they swivel back and forth. zip ties are ghetto, especially if you use it on something essential as a brake line.
you can get away with zip ties with your fender liners, but zip ties are just lil pieces of plastic. sometimes they snap for no reason and then what? you have your brake lines rubbing against your suspension.
the brake lines move back and forth all the time in the front..

the reason why the brakes lines move is because of the fact it is connected to the strut, which turns when ur turning the wheel. so in essence, having the brake lines just there not tied into the strut, is even more dangerous then zip tieing it to the strut. i see ur point about it being dangerous derrick, but at the same time, i see no problem with doing that as long as ur not taking ur car to the track or offroading it.......

yeah no one is arguing that it's a temporary thing, but we were just talking about the issues with using it there forever in the first place, which is not good/safe or smart thing to do

also, with the struts already installed, i'm sure he would of left it like that for a long time if not there for good. just advising ken to find a better solution for it.
