Scottsdale is a bunch of rich @$$holes, at least most of them are(in my opinion) some people might think different. No offense to anyone on here that lives in Scottsdale, or knows anyone that does. The living costs depends of what area of Phoenix/Scottsdale you are going to live in and what kind of living(house/Apt, 1br/2br) and so on. Are you planning on living in an apt? If so they run about $600 up to $1300+ for the Scottsdale area. You can also check out apartments.com and apartmentguide.com for prices and pics/layouts. There are alot of clubs and stuff like that if you are into that. Well, I hope this helps somewhat. Let me know if I can help with anything else.
Thanks - yes I am looking for an apt - preferably something in the range of 800-1000 a month. Doesnt have to be in Scottsdale but close cause of school. I would like to know about some of the night life and what else you guys do out there, cause I need something to stop me from hitting vegas. I really like the look of the Scottsdale school but Vegas is ohhhh so tempting
I live in North Phoenix and Im about 10 minutes from Scottsdale so there are way of getting around the expensive living cost in Scottsdale. You're talking about the culinary school by Martini Ranch and Maloneys huh? Sweet location. You can live anywhere in the valley and still be 20 min from everything else. Check out all the websites that Cobrapimp mentioned and then come check out the apts you like. I love Phoenix and I hope you find what you're looking for.
Night life- There are too many bars and clubs to count in Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale, Peoria, etc...Every Sat there is a big car show for vintage and imports at the Scottsdale Pavillions and then there are smaller shows that happen across the valley after thats over. Tempe has Mill Avenue where you can cruise or bar hop and its right next to the ASU campus/dorms. Scottsdale has Old Town Scottsdale where you can bar hop also or you can go to Desert Ridge which is North and go to Fat Tuesdays, or Rock Bottom, or Club Atlas. We have all the major sports teams about here so there always sporting things going on. If you like snow sports in the winter then Flagstaff is only 2 hours North. Lots of lakes for water sports and the Salt River where you can just sit on a tube and float the river. FireBird Raceway has sport compact night on Thursdays if you wanna get some time slips or just watch and Fridays are general race nights for whoever. And there is SpeedWorld for racing too. The import scene is getting bigger all the time out here.

Edit dumb me forgot to put the linky in ----
Thanks..................Im talking about this culinary school..... Scottsdale Culinary Institue
Anyhow I talked to my mom last night and if I really like it were going down there to check out living exspenses (you guys pay unbelieveable cheap rent compared to our LA 1200 for a one bedroom apt in a shitty neighborhood). But if I do come I will start in Auguest. This is a huge expense (you wouldnt believe how much culinary school is :rolleyes and so I have to carefully compare to places like the Vegas school and what not................Though I am heavily leaning towards AZ and its enviorment and atmosphere. Please keep the info coming if you can and I will definitely need to meet you guys when I come down there to visit............Thanks sooooooooooo much
Yeah Phoenix is all right, there is stuff to do but right after my schooling everyone split so I didn't feel like sticking out in Phoenix. But yeah LA rent is expensive but hella nice out there, CA or Vegas is my next destination. Yeah I payed $600 for a good sized one bedroom in a gated community but hated the wages and jobs. Plus the dessert has never been my sort of thing LOL living in OR for 18 yrs you get used to clean air hehe. If you like a fun but lots of driving involved city Phoenix is your option. But Scottsdale bars are good I will say.
Yeah phoenix I found is not a real home city since there are lots of snowbirds and people never live here very long I have found. I have only met a handfull of people who were born and raised here. Yep I am in AZ for awhile and was down in the Phoenix area today
I love Phoenix but I didnt realize it till I moved away to college...now that Im back Im having a great time. Not sure if Im gonna be here foever but as for right now Im here and living it up.

Congrats and good luck. There are a lot of clubs around here....too many to list. How old are you? Cuz there are some all ages clubs but the best ones are 21 and up. The only bad thing is that in AZ alcohol cant be served or bought after 1am. I know its 2am in Cali.
Damn Eric, you shouldnt be flashin yer number....I know you have a gf
