7th Gen Meet & BBQ This Saturday!! May 3 @ Fort DeSoto Park, St. Pete
Allright that other thread got too big and this one will make it easier for anyone that is interested in the 7th Gen Civic Meet/BBQ this Saturady, May 3 at Fort Desoto Park in St. Petersburg, FL!
If you are definately going please reply and add your name to the list. Also if you are bringing any guests let us know. I encourage all to bring guests (family, girlfriends, etc.) THE MORE THE MERRIER!
Where is it?
The official meeting place is Fort DeSoto Park in St. Petersburg
MAP & SITE BUT there will be a Pre-Meet at the Best Buy in Tampa, located right off of I-275 at the Northbound Dale Mabry exit. We will be meeting there between 10:30a.m. and 11:00a.m. to insure we get a good area at Fort DeSoto to BBQ. I predict that we will be arriving at Fort DeSoto at around 11:30a.m. and the Official Meet will begin at around 12:00p.m. There is not an official meeting place at the park yet (since it is a large park) but I am sure that I will post up an EXACT meeting location so that there is not any confusion. If you are unsure of Directions to the park or to Best Buy, please do not hesitate to PM me or Email Me for info and/or my cell phone number.
How do I get there?
Directions:
From I-4: And then Tampa
Traveling west on I-4 take the I-275 St. Petersburg exit once you get into Tampa. It should be the last exit you can make since I-4 ends in Tampa. Traveling south on I-275 St. Petersburg proceed to the Howard Franklin Bridge following the St. Petersburg signs. You will travel over the Howard frankling for about 6 miles then you will be in St. Petersburg. Keep on Traveling south untill you hit 54th Ave S. It is a long ways and make sure you take the 54th Ave South exit and NOT the 54th Ave N. Exit and you should travel west until you hit a Toll Booth (it is $0.50) and after you pass the toll booth there will be a major street to turn left on, it is not a residential street but a commercial street. It will take you into Tierra Verde, (you will know when you are on the right road or not because you will see the beach on both sides of you. Travel south until you hit Fort DeSoto Park. I'm sure we will pick a definate meeting spot so that you all will know where to find us. This will be posted soon.
What about the food?
I don't really know what's going on with the food, but if you are going to eat or want to eat, either bring your own food to cook or bring $10 so that we can stop at a grocery store to get food to cook. Hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage, you know cheap stuff. If everyone brings $10 we can then pool our money together so that we can buy all the stuff that we need. This is alot easier than everyone bringing their own stuff and people bring the same stuff and we don't have all the stuff we need.
What are we gonna do?
Bring your swimming shorts/suits whatever. We're gonna be on the beach basically and if your gonna go swimming dress appropriately. I'm gonna try and get my friend's Jet SKi so that we can ride that bitch in the ocean. Nick (SilverStreakEx) is bring a football so we can play some ball. I have a boogie board. Maybe someone bring a volleyball. Basically we're gonna have a day on the beach.
Can we bring beer?
From what I know they don't allow alcoholic beverages at the park, especially if you're underage. But all the times that I have ever been to Fort Desoto I was drinking. So you better believe I will have beer out there. Please don't drink if you are underage and don't drink and drive.
I hope to see everyone that said they're gonna be there...be there. It will be fun. I know many people took the day off from work, etc. so let's make this worthwhile. Remember that if you are not postive on how to get there..MEET @ Best Buy on Dale Mabry at 10:30 to 11:00 a.m.!

P.S. Don't forget to bring $1 for the Toll to Fort DeSoto. $0.50 to get in & $0.50 to get back to I-275!

no i dont.. i like my vic.. found a new trans today.. hehehe.. im picking it up tommorow .. only 300 bucks.. i think im going to try and figure out the valving system so i may beable to make some faster shifts.. we will see though.. i can see it now.. "spiders diy faster auto shifting" haha

This meet is tommorrow and we need to get our shit together, you all had one month to schedule the day for the meet, and all we can get is 4 people??? This is pretty pathetic... I took the day off work so I that I could dedicate the whole day to organize a meet for you all and all we got is 4 people...what a damn shame.
Thanks to the guys who always show up for things, Simeon, Nick, Riley, ..shit it's these same guys that I see at every meet or whatever.
Hopefully we'll see some new faces....
Don't take this post the wrong way..I'm just pissed that we had alot of people interested, but until the day before the actual meet, alot of people backed out, WTF
Anyway If you can make it out there tommorrow to Best Buy on Dale Mabry at 10:30 to 11:00a.m. Saturday Morning, we will see you there..then we will ride out to Fort DeSoto
Oh yeah I'm not positive about the JetSki, Because I don't have anyway to tow it, since it's on a trailer and I don't have a hitch or anything. So I don't know if I'm gonna have the jetski or not..

Yo, son.... I hope you aren't callin me lazy, considering that we have no background together and you don't even have a clue about my situation. So, You know what I hate?????? I hate when mu***ker's start assumin stuff and calling me lazy. In fact I might still make it to the meet, but that's neither here nor there. I think an appology is due if you were refering to me......which is what it sounds like.

LOL! Damn Joe calm down, I'm sure he wasn't trying to call you out like that.
And yeah don't say people are lazy if you don't know what's going on with them. Yeah I'm pissed that we couldn't get more people out, but alot of people have good reasons why they can't come. So let it be.

Alright, tommorrow morning before we meet at Best Buy I'm gonna buy some food at the grocery store and charcoal to grill. I'll front the cash for the food, but I'm not made of money. So bring me money if you're gonna eat. Plain and simple, don't bring me money to chip in don't eat. I never claimed this to be "my" meet, I just stepped up to the plate to organize this shit when nobody else wanted to do it. It is "our" meet and if only 4 people show up tommorow then it is "our" fault that we didn't try hard enough to get alot more people out. Like I said before thanks to the guys that do show up for stuff: Riley, Simeon, Nick, others. I'm not trying to create anycar club or anything, I just want the members of this site in this area to have a good meet-up to see each others progress on tuning their civic. It's just sad that nobody wants to do this. Anyway Riley we might be stopping at a grocery store before we head to the park to get food, so it might be a little bit longer..maybe 12:00p.m. But if do show up earlier try to save us a spot because I know it's gonna be packed.

hey, I always show. The last couple of times with me riley and sim theres only been like 5 people. Some of these people gotta get their Sh!t together. I took off of work for it so no matter what I am comin. I was just hopin that this wouldn't be 5 people "like they usually are" because this was planned way in advance. Oh well, whoever turns out turns out.
One a personal note the same thing is happening to me. No one, I mean none of my friends are able to go tommarow. Some are working others are already doing something. It sucks. I guess if Derek (Gangsta) and Steve (RSX-S) show up I know them well considering they go to my school. Just felt like expressing myself.
Yo I aint been bullshittin, I'ma really try to come but I cant take off work, I dont have a choice so I gotta work til 12:30 maybe even 1:00 and then I'ma try to find my way there but yall know I dont know my way around so hopefully the directions are on point.
well guys i hope u all had fun without me.. maybe next time we can plan it 3-4 months in advance so everyone can get off work so more people can come.. also so my car wont be broken
