TAMPA - A hostage situation is under way at Shooting Sports Inc. at 7811 N. Dale Mabry Highway, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
A gunman is holding people hostage inside said sheriff’s spokeswoman Vida Morgan.
The view from Eagle 8 showed northbound traffic blocked on Dale Mabry at Hamilton Avenue, soutbound traffic blocked near Waters Avenue. Traffic in the area is backed up.
A sheriff’s hostage negotiator is on the phone with the man, said sheriffs office spokeswoman Debbie Carter. Carter said they don’t know anything about his identity or have any other description.
About 6:30 p.m. a woman got out of a red and silver van, at the corner of Broad Street and Dale Mabry. She was met by a deputy, who walked her up to other officers at the van. The woman was wearing a pink shirt, with a name tag on her chest and appeared visibly upset.
Sheriff David Gee and Chief Deputy Jose Docobo are at the scene.
About 50 or 60 onlookers are standing around Broad Street. Law enforcement has asked people to stay away from the area.
The incident was called in at 4:42 p.m., Morgan said.

here's whats going down...
the receptionist from the gun range is sitting in my husbands office, she got out. she's still there....she had to leave her purse and all behind, so has no way of getting home etc.
the owner of the store got out too...he was there at the office, but is somewhere else at the moment
so what they say is going on..not much info...but here ya go..
the owners wife is a hostage right now....and others....some dude came off the street and don't know the reason why.
