Road Rage Insanity

Just got home from work. It's raining...pretty heavy. Some *** ** **** ****** ***** ***** *** gave me a case of severe road rage on the way home. I'm driving along, look up in the rear view mirror, and this idiot in a full size chevy truck is riding my ass. Now I'm going at a decent speed, maybe even over the limit a tad, but not flying here. So I get pissed and tap the brakes to get him to BACK OFF!! He proceeds to almost sh*t himself and whips it over into the other lane to pass. This is a four lane road. He gets by, gets in my lane and slams on the brakes. OMG! If I'd had a gun, this guy would be pushin' up daisies right now. WTF is this guy thinking? He then proceeds to speed up, like the p***y he is, and puts some distance between us. Lucky for him. If he hadn't been driving like a moron to begin with, it would've never happened.

Why do people in trucks and suvs think they can bully other drivers? Makes me wanna get a gun, just for that lunatic that actually tries to start some sh*t some day. As it is, I think I'll put my butterfly knife in the glove box just in case.

because if they hit you its not them thats going to have the major damage haha. and its not just people in trucks and suv's that try that.....

today i was sitting in traffic and this guy in a dodge stratus was getting pissed off because he couldnt get out. well there was an accident up ahead and traffic was majorly conjested at this intersection. well animal control is driving by and the guy tries to pull out right in front of his huge truck. the guy starts yelling at him from inside the car with all windows up. like the guy in his truck...a diesel no less can hear him. so then the ass cuts me off to get out and i honk at him. so he flips me off so i hong again. then he starts yelling. so i honk again. this time im laughing so hard and pointing at him. which made him even more mad. i kept honking to piss him off even more. it was such comedy. the look in his face was classic when he saw me laughing

nothing beats the time when there was traffic over this bridge I normally take home from work. Well, I got my system up and windows half down, and I'm about 30 feet in front of light, and it's packed, no one is moving. So the guy behind me is beeping at me and beeping, I'm like yo, open your eyes, we are not going anywhere, so finally he rolls up on my right side and he's like, "next time move up so I could get by." I just tell him to stop being a b*tch. He got so mad he got out and wanted to fight. I picked up my cell phone and I'm like, I'll fight you, hold on let me call the police. so he reached in my car window tries slapping me, but fails, and saw that I'm dialing so he left. I thought it would be funny if they fined him for assault or road rage or something.

JJJ, I've always thought it would be funny in a situation like yours when somebody is trying to act all crazy and bad azz, like when he got out and started yelling you bust out a gat and like in an extremely loud and satanic voice were like "Bring it mother f**ker!!!" You know he would shit his pants and probably take off running.

if you were in the left lane when that truck came up on you, and were able to move into the right lane to let him pass, then you should have done that. if not, you speed up a bit and move over when you can. faster traffic should always keep to the left. i get pissed when drivers don't move over. I guess drivers ed just doesn't teach you the basics anymore of course hitting the brakes is gonna piss him off. if i got a call from the hospital that my wife was having her baby, i'd be pissed if someone did that.

after you have several years of experience on the road, you should be able to handle these situations better.

I had a situation like JJJ.
I was on PCH (CA) and the road had one lane closed (late at night and the workers went home for the day) due to construction, the light turns green and I proceed through the intersection. I so happen to look in my rearview mirror and see some WP in a jeep hauling a$$, i see the lane i am in is coming to an end so I slow down and let the car to the left pass me up a bit so I can change lanes, well this dip $hit continues to speed down the road, I change lanes and speed up so he wouldnt hit me. He swerves to the right to try and pass me up and with in a second he slams on his brakes skidding and coming to a stop about 1 car length from the barrier the workers put up. By this time i am about a block away and can still see him, he speeds down the street again catching up to me and the car infront of me, he cuts the car off in front of me (they pull to the left) and I slam on my brakes. I stopped maybe about 5 feet from his bumber and i can see him cussing and screaming (i have my windows down, he has no top) racial slurrs through the back of his jeep. Naturally I start responding to his remarks, he jumps out like he's going to do something, I open my door and reach under my seat, he sees this as his walking towards my car and second guessing himself turns and runs to his car, by that time i am out of my car trying to piss him off to come back, he peels away. I figure he assumed i was reaching for a gun under my seat when in reality I was tossing my personal stuff (keys, wallet, cell phone) under the seat incase we started to rumble nothing would fall out of my pockets.

I really hate it when people act really tuff until some one actually calls their bluff and they run away.

Son, I have been driving for over 17 years. I'm not one of the typical young guys on this forum. You'd be wise to find that out before sounding off about something you know nothing about.

Now, back to your comments. Yes, I was in the left lane, probably doing a little more than the limit. Yes, there was a car in the right lane at the time, otherwise the moron would have simply went around me. He was obviously not in an emergency situation, because he didn't flash his lights or have his hazards on. If that were the case, I would have kindly sped up and gotten over. He was being a typical aggressive, truck driving jerk that does not respect other drivers. I can safely say he was less than 10 ft from my bumper. It was raining heavily and he had no reason to drive like that. I merely tapped my brakes, I did not slam them like he did.

I also get pissed when slow traffic hogs the fast lane, but I don't ride their ass and provoke people into a rage. I don't see what having a baby has to do with anything, because he wasn't signalling me that he was in an emergency. And when YOU have at least 17 years experience, you can offer advice to other drivers. Until then, keep your comments to yourself.

hey, c'mon I'm simply giving you my take on this. maybe i'd better understand the situation if I were in your shoes, but what you did I don't consider to be defensive driving. you don't wanna piss off a driver that's driving like he's already pissed. commuting daily to work for the past 5 years, I have enough experience to offer my comments to someone.

He'd be buying you a new car??? LOL....He's driving a full sizeTruck, you'd be in a ditch somewhere calling for a tow truck to pick you up while he continued one with his drive ....IF you have someone tailgating you, the obvious thing to do is to move over .......If not wave him around ......People can be dicks and rather than get all mad and fired up, just let them pass and continue .......

I guess some people don't mind being bullied around by other people. I'm not gonna give in to every 'tard on the road that wants to go 20mph over the speed limit and endanger everyone else on the road.

well technically the number 1 lane (left lane, fast lane) is for passing only. you really shouldnt be travelling in it. the middle lanes are for travelling and passing and the far right lane (slow lane) is for traveling only. you shouldnt be passing in it. thats TECHNICALLY. obviously from this thread we knwo that people chill in the fast lane and wont get over. you go up to oregon or washington and you get a ticket for doing that. if you are in the fast lane then get your ass over when someone is behind you. its ok not to move and make them go around ONLY if you are in the middle lanes.

yeah people can be like that. when people drive nuts like that, i just get out their way or just speed off. but usually when i speed off they follow me through traffic cause i am the only one making way for them. if i cant get rid of them i pull off into a slow paced lane so thet can just get in front of me and ride on someone elses ass!
