bad day as well

went to my girlfreind school today for my lunch break at penn state university to visit her
its was all good and all until i had a not so plesent ride back to work.
i was driving on 2 lane road that had a 1 foot ditch running along side of the road, Road was rather narow and windy.
but any way there was this old beat up eclipes driving in the middle of the road and my choises were either smash into him at about 40 mph head on or turn the wheel and avoid him. So my first instinct was to turn the wheel and down i go with half my car into the ditch. all i haed a a boom and scraping.
i was stuck and had the local police deparment push me out of the ditch with a chevy Yukon they had. the car ran fine and everything seemed ok until i stomped on the gas and after 5000 rpms the car was very loud. so i went to my work and had one of the techs look at it and the whole under body of the car was scraped to hell but no serius damage. but i bent the pipe in from the exshast so bad the it had a hole in it.
any way looks like i have to spend some money and get it replaced and hit it with some undercoat to make sure it dosent rust.
and as for the guy in the ecliped he never stoped. so am kind a MAD!!
JUst wanted to let off alitlle steam so i though i would share this with u guys......
Thanks.....

I'm not sure if I completely follow....but I'm assuming the Eclipse was in the wrong? If so, it's actually always best to hit them instead of swirving, because they are no longer responsible if you cause a different accident. I know it's instinct to avoid it, and it sucks too, but that's what the police will tell ya. Sorry to hear about the damage, and good luck on the fix

Wow thats a tough call.. run into the ditch or risk being hit. Not sure what I would of done if I was in that situation. Glad to hear its not that bad of damage.. I think.

You are saying that it would have been a better decision to just slam into the eclipse at 40 mph head on? Uhhh, I would hope you dont represent the average driver.
