I was cruzing down the parkway heading home from school doing about 70-75. Then this blue 7thgen civic came flying down to my left side on the fast lane so i said to myself *ok, lets have a lil fun*(driving gets boring when all you do is drive 45min to school every day)..anyway..so we were doing about 95-100. I dont know what he has(lx, dx, ex, hx) or if he's stepping on it, but i seem to be a lil faster than him. I like staying behind a car and you just know when the guy steps on it then you too step on it and see if you can keep up. Well i did keep up and i was creeping closer and closer to him. Anyway, so i hit the last toll before my exit, still behind him. He took off quick, i did the same. If you live in nj you know how the tolls are wide open then it merges back to 2 or 3 lanes. We were coming from the right side. He tried cutting these 2 cars to go in the fast lane. There was a car merging into my lane(slow lane) so i kept my speed up to try to beat him, paying close attention to him(i did beat him). When i looked ahead of me, all i saw was break lights and tires smoking coming from the civic. I dont know what happend, but i thought he made it through those two cars, but i guess not, or did he??. He made the car in front of me pull a lil to the side then he ended up in front of me again. I almost hit him, but thank god i had enough distance from him when i was breaking. like i said i dont really know what happend. maybe he shifted wrong? maybe he's just stupid and thinks he can outrun another civic like mine? Just thought i'd share that wit you guys, cause all i do is drive back and forth to school and it gets really boring.

Now I know. Everyone does a little "street racing" once in a while, BUT, it sounds like you guys weren't being safe about it AT ALL. That really pisses me off. Cutting people off and whatnot, that's just STUPID.
Omg u guys seriously need to calm down.. it allready happened and you all posting Oh your an idiot isent going to change his ways and EVERYONE does it once and while so dont be a hypocrite.
He tries to post and find out who it was to see what happened and all you can do is flame him? Im sure he knows not to race through traffic and if you acctualy read his post he was NOT the one who was weaving in between cars.
Also you dont know what the road conditions were like or how conjested it was or how many lane highway it was and none of u live in nj.
Just to let you guys know, I dont race a lot, infact not really. And if/when i do try to street race someone, i try to be careful and try not to get cars around me in danger. i know street racing isnt at all safe, but im causious of whats around me. I knew someone would flame me on this one.

in his defence, however, real "racing" isnt about getting to top speed in a straight line. real racing should have some strategy involved, and sometimes that means passing other cars. im not saying cutting them off, but theres some people who like to be a$$holes and block everyone and not let them go. so cutting them off is a neccessary evil, and it doesnt mean that its always unsafe. you have to know your car and its limitations.
that said, i probably wouldnt have raced him, but i guarantee he would have been behind me sooner or later. so please, dont get all your panties in a bunch and act all high and mighty like you dont do this yourself. i bet some of you who have nitrous dont have it there for decoration.
and furthermore, he wasnt the one responcible for the near accident, so dont blame him for something he didnt do, hes just trying to find out what happened and share his story. if you want to jump on someone, jump on all the idiots who post kill stories (i know for a fact that some of you here have posted such kill stories yourselves).
Actually, like I said before, I only use my nitrous at the track and under specific other conditions (i.e. 2AM on the freeway with no traffic).
ALSO, in the eyes of the law, in all 50 states, he IS responsible for any accident due to the fact that he was INVOLVED IN THE RACE. Say that other civic DID smack into those cars and killed someone.

I wasnt even racing him after the toll. I only stepped on the gas after him to see how *quick* he is. Stopped when the lane merged into 2 and i only sped up cause there was a car right next to me and we were both going on the same lane. I never liked civics, it wasnt my choice that i got one (yea start flamin on that one too) i learned to love it and site is the best on infos for it. People like you makes me disrespect people who drives civic cause they think theyre all that. One day we'll see what your lil B16 can do

And im postivie u posted how u looked back and he must of been at least 2 bus lengths behind u and guess what for those 2 second you wernt looking at the road funny how much shlt u could of gotten into in those 2 seconds considering im sure you were going 100+

Yeah I don't agree with street racing and especially in traffic. But its said and done so just be safe out there. I see to many totalled civics topics come and go. Lost my best friend awhile back in a car accident so it wasn't fun.
