I was beginning to wonder if my injectors were clogged, or perhaps I had a bad solenoid or what. I swear that my car hasn’t been as fast on the juice as it once was... by far. Yesterday though, I got to crack a new bottle for the first time in about a month... I only use the N20 at the track or if I'm challenged AND conditions are right on the road (i.e. no traffic or cops).
Anyway, I ran up against a Red 99/00 Si with I/H/E, and I don’t know what else. We get on it from a roll, ~ 60 MPH in 3rd gear. Im going, the juice is on and flowing (I can hear it), but like I said before, it didn’t seem like my car was running very well. At about 100 MPH, I let off and look up from my instrumentation and the road ahead to see the other Si a bus length behind me. We pulled over after and talked for a bit.
After all was said and done I was left with the impression that speed is indeed a drug. And like any drug, if you take it enough, at the same dose, you become used to its effects. My car may feel slow to me, but it certainty impressed someone, who by all other rights should have pulled a bit on me (seeing as how he has more mods then me... proof thats its all about quality over quantity.)
He shouldn't have pulled on you much if at all. I had a 2k1 civic with nitrous on it and had it dynoed at 152 Hp to the ground and I forget how much torque but it was a good bit. Now the Si with I/H/E should have about the same in horsepower but no where close to the torque level of your car. So that should be a pretty much easy win.
By the way I would like to see how I would do against a 7th gen civic with Nitrous against my 2002 SVT Focus...I'm not saying I would win but just wonder if I could or not...anyone live near charlotte with N20 wanta race.
A) I also own a 00 Si.
B) I meant OFF on the nitrous, he would have pulled a little given the fact that there was no launching (it was from a roll) and he, again, had more modifications then me. It just so happens that doesnt matter too much when one of MY power adders is an N20 system.
I was using this run as a benchmark to compare performance factors, between a car with the same engine/tranny/weight as me.

yep, my friend's itr is my drug. this may sound sick but i need that feeling of power from his car or else i start daydreaming/thinking about it more & more during the day every day until i'm in it again
Hey Guru doesn't your Si have a turbocharger cuz I think I remember you posting a story about a kid that wanted to race when he had a supercharger from jackson racing cuz he was sponsored or sumshit and you owned him hard maybe it was a friend of yours car, that story was priceless.
That was an EX with a JRSC, and yes I owned him hard... AFTER his friend talked mad shiet. However, even If it was an Si Id still win, because the JRSC is a POS.
Humm yeah I will agree speed is an addiction, I think my car is slow then I get in my older civic and its pathetic. But yeah my buddys 99 SI I love that thing, I would have got one if I had the chance back in 99 but oh well.

I agree... I think that's one of the points I was trying to get across a long time ago here
