Last night I ran this with a full gas tank, I missed third gear, and I had my bookbag from school and some other crap in there too. but oh well. I have a bone stock 03 LX coupe, 5 speed.
my first time i ran at the track.. i have a 03 ex... im still learning to race.. but i ran a 17.4 all cause i dont know how to launch yet and i also missed 3rd gear.
"01 EX manual
apexi WS exhaust
16x7 Rota Slips (35psi)
30lbs of sh** in the trunk
190lbs
Reaction Times 1.5 to 1.7
Launch at 3500rpm
= consistent 16.9s"
Once again, reaction times do not affect ET's.....and holy shit..it took you almost 2 whole seconds to realize that the light was green? Were you taking a nap? Try leaving on the last yellow.....I totally botched one run and got a 1.002,and I thought that was bad.....best so far for me has been .538...
I've never dragged raced before.
So excuse the remarks about reaction times.
I never knew that you should launch on the last yellow. So I'll keep that in mind.
If you got any tips, just post em screaminDOHC.

saiyan, try ebay. I had to order mine from a local race shop. NGK makes some good iridium plugs also. I have those sitting in my center console right now, i think i will try them out this week.

FOR NEW PEOPLE WHO DONT KNOW TOO MUCH BOUT RACING DONT LOOK AT ALL THE TIMES EQUALLY. One guy can say he did a 15.3 in stock ex and then you go out and the best you can manage is a 16.8. Its not the car, it may not even be the driver. Your location, meaning your altitude and what the weather is like with wind and temp....plays a much bigger role than you might think. It isnt uncommon for you to see the same person pull off numbers like 15.6 and 15.9 and then see him doing 17's the next week without changing a thing. The best i could manage to date is 16.9 in my 2002 manual dx with 17's, a CAI and an axel back. And it isnt just me....4 other 7thgens were doing comparible numbers. So people saying the car should be going 16.3's at least...keep this in mind. The track and weather play a BIG part in the times you will get. Dont let it discourage you though
i do not know what is wrong with me, i am getting terrible times. my best was 17.383 and my worst was 17.972. i have a 2002 lx 5 speed coupe. i could not even get into the 16s. all i have is an OBX axle back and 17" rims with 205/40/17 tires. i deflated them to 30 psi and i still couldn't get a good run!! how did you guys start up? i had good reaction times, but my start was always really slow because the tires would bounce and loose traction. i usually did a launch at 3k-4k RPM and spun the tires a bit. is this recommended, what is the best way to launch? i tried not spinning the tires, but that is when i got my worst time.
