Everyone kept racing because that's how F1 works. No one is supposed to stop because your competitor might be injured. The drivers keep driving and racing as long as the race is going on.
It's ugly, it's cold, it's heartless, but that is part of racing. You won't have much of a career if you jump out of your car every time someone gets in a wreck.
