Exclamation A street race story

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a terrible experience that happened to me last night.

I was at a party when i met up with a couple of friends. We all talked about our cars and what we had done to them recently. One of my friend's who's name was Jose was bragging about how he had just gotten a new lexus is300 and how hooked up it was. My best friend had also just gotten an audi a4 so the guy Jose was begging him to go race to try the new cars out. My best friend said no because he had already gotten a rack of tickets and points on his license. He kept begging so we made it clear we wouldnt go. The party went on but my friend with the audi and i decided to go because we were riding together. We left and all of a sudden the guy with the lexus showed up with behind us. He pulled up right next to us, so he ended up in the on coming traffic lane trying to race us. My friend and I decided we wouldnt race him, and kept on going at an average speed. This is the exact road where the accident im about to tell you about took place...

As we kept going, the guy slammed on the brakes to see if we would start from zero. Since he saw that we kept going, he accelerated to approx. 130mph. and passed us. He passed us and about 15ft in front of us as he was trying to merge into our lane, his front right tire blew and he lost control of the car. At first he slammed into a wooden post which he cracked in half and that made the car fly up in the air and take down two brick walls and a gate as it flipped through them. (All this happened right in front of us as we slammed on the brakes.)

From where the accident took place, to where the car ended up, there is a distance of about 150ft if not more.

After we slammed on the brakes, we got out convinced our two friends where dead. We walked towards the car terrified of what we might find inside since the outside of the car looked like this because it was very dark...(This pic was taken at that exact time.)

Once we approached the car, we went straight to the passanger because we herd him yelling "get me out of here, get me out of here". My friend started pulling the door but it wouldnt open... we didnt want to move him but we wanted to talk to him! so we broked what was left of the door and told him to calm down as i was calling 911! when they arrived this is what they found!

The driver wasnt talking or moving at all and we couldnt even see him or get to him. when police showed up they cut a pice of the car and got the driver unconscious and with a bigger crack on his head than the passenger!

PASSENGER 24hrs LATER... (24 staples on his head)

GUYS THIS IS NOT A GAME !!!

I love racing too, i've raced too, i've top speeded my car too!!! but know, after seeing both of my friends almost die i realize that if i would of race them it could be me inside that car! I really dont want to race anymore!

I used to see it on the news and always thought that would never happen to me because i can drive, well guess what, the driver new how to drive but never thought that a tire will explote making him loose absolute control of his car! He is still unconscious at the hospital but "stable". Doctors dont know what is going to happen to him when he wakes up!

Think twice before acting IT COULD COST YOUR LIFE !!! Do not wait until an experience like this teaches you how to be responsable KEEP THIS IN MIND!

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!

Wow... Thats sad to hear. I do applaude you for not racing them- great decision! Who knows if the emergency room would of had enough staples to go around for all of you.

Question- on that last pic, how did that blood get on the pavement?

the tire blew out on the Lexus, so was this considered "accidental" or is it classified as "racing" by your local police?

When police arrived we had already taken the driver half way out the window because we were scared that the car would blow! so when the meds arrive and saw that he had a crack on his cranium they started opening and closing his cracked cranium so his brain wouldnt swell...before get him all the way out of the car... so everytime he opened is injury a lot of blood would come out and that is it!

well tha police couldnt imagine how that happend, all they knew is that you dont get a car on this conditions going 45 or even 80 mph... and plus on the floor there was only one thin tire mark going straight to the firs column! we were the ones who saw smoke out of his right tire when he passed us and saw him going straight to the post, so we still dont know wether it was a tire explotion or some other wird thing!

Re: A street race story

I feel sorry for the passanger. I dont mean to sound like a dick, but did the driver survive? I hate street racing with a fucking passion because it endangers others, so the more of these idiots die, the more likely it is that other people will open their eyes. These idiots think they are such hot fucking shit, but they are just street ricers with no regard for their lives nor anyone elses, or the concequences of their actions, and then when they die their friends and family try to say "thats horrible what happened", and try to make it seem like it wasnt all their fault. GET A FUCKING CLUE, ITS REAL LIFE, ACTIONS HAVE CONCEQUENCES. I feel bad that innocent bystanders and passangers suffer, but I pray to god if there is one that all of these idiots get wiped from the earth so their seed and idiocy doesnt spread to the next generation. Same goes for bikers who think its so cool to ride in shorts and a tshirt with oakleys on going 90mph in the school zone. Sorry for the rant it just makes me mad when something like this happens and noone has the balls to stand up and say shit.

edit: also just saw that this was stickied, and wanted to say good job to whoever put it there. im sure we have some bright members here who will take this story into the back of their heads and think twice next time on the freeway

Re: A street race story

all i can say is wow, i went through a similar experience with street racing when i was 17, and i hit a telephone pole too, mine was no where near as bad as this, my jaw actually dropped when i was looking at ur pictures. all i can ask is how are u holding up... my best friend watched my accident as well, and he was a bit tore up for a while, people always ask about the immediate victim, but what about the witness, it is a life changing event without a doubt, i hope everyone is well, and all the wiser, especially any children who look at this thread, u should talk to a local high school and have them use the destroyed car as an example of why you should not street race, im sure the driver wouldnt mind them using it as an example, believe me, it helps

Hope you learned your lesson..its just unfortunate that so many of these people know the dangers but still do it. It boggles me that they want to learn from their own mistakes, not other people's especially when its a life and death situation. Some of them never learn

Re: A street race story

im 25 no, beleive me i learned my lesson, myself and my now fiance both could have died, in fact, we found her glasses wedged between the windsheild and the firewall, it was a crazy day, we got lucky, and so did the kids mentioned above, street racing is pathetic and gay, i hate it, i have a drag strip 10 minutes from my house, so i can go whenever i want, plus u get times, and who wins, and im glad this is stickied, it will make a good thread
