Yeah, I hate seeing people on motorcycles do that. I always drove through to keep traffic behind me instead of arround me (when I could). To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

Re: A street race story

I'm an idiot,
but this wont stop me from racing.
I'm not stupid about it though,
empty expressways at night are fine,
back roads are okay,
busy city streets?
NO.
Hope your friend is okay.

Re: A street race story

You know what i hate! a friend and i, built a show car, and every time we take it out we always get some punks wanting to race us. its like come on, get a grip of life. we built this car for show, not to run around the streets racing people. then they always give us shit like "OHH its all show and NO GO". and we just keep our tongues. most of the people that want to race us would get smoked if they even tried yet we still keep our cool.

And if your wondering yes its fast, 400hp with a turbo, dont really feel like going into detail.

but anyway about street racing, not cool.

i say u wanna see cool cars go to the shows,
u wanna race cars go to the track. for real

Re: A street race story

This has to be one of the worst crashes I have seen. I street race on roads that cars never drive on. It's a series of roads that me and some buddies found while exploring the back roads of our community. there is one entrance, and no houses or... anything back there, so it is pretty safe. The nearest legal track is about 80 miles away. I would gladly race on a track if one was available to me, but until then we will race in that secluded area. I know it is dangerous to race, I lost two good friends not too long ago in this crash: http://web2.lcni5.com/cgi-bin/c2.cgi...13110225071321

So just remember, if you are going to street race, then be smart about it.

Re: A street race story

Thats amazig that they survive too. I just had an accident in Aug. 09, 09. and I don't remembernothing from it and don't even remember when I was in the hospital I got brain injuries and would never be the same person. I used to race a lot and never care until now bcs the police said it was witnesses in the accident, some said I just lost control, some said I was racing. Is hard to leave the world leaving a beautifull little girl, and a baby in mommy's belly I would off hate but I'm good THANKS TO GOD... Hope the driver and the passenger are fine...

Re: A street race story

Just the other day I was coming home from school, and right around from my house is a curve in the road, a car was over the center lane so I swerved right to avoid it and my front passenger wheel got locked due to a breakage, hit the shoulder and spun my car around.

Neither me nor the other guy appeared to be racing, this stuff happens.

Re: A street race story

This is kinda off topic and I hate talking about it. But I lost my boyfriend in 06 due to someone cutting his lines and he was racing another car on the highway and a semi slammed, well according to the other car " locked" his brakes in front of him and they were about to go under a bridge and he slammed into the wall at about 110 . You know all of you are saying, "its bad to street race... etc" If you're meant to die, You're gonna die whether it's racing or not.

And just recently where I live (even more off topic) there has been four bus wrecks in the past two years. Taking 3 lives, yesterday one happened because a bus tried to beat a truck .

http://www.wlwt.com/news/21220090/detail.html

Almost four months ago a bus driver thought it would be so cool!111 to race a honda, because he said "it looked fast". And flipped the bus and killed a 7 year old.

I am sorry about your experience. I bet it was a huge wakening call.

I don't think anyone puts a mark on you and says your going to die whether or not you street race. It of course is putting yourself in danger. Then i see stuff like this and wonder what were his intentions. I know this thread started like 2 years ago but its a grim reminder of not using your brain then possibly losing it. If you race at least use some common sense and use 2 lane roads where no one is around. You don't have to top out your cars to see who wins either, that's just ignorance. Well drive safe and don't think your invisible!!

Tire blowouts at 120 mph don't care how smart you are. They also don't care whether you are on a busy street or in the middle of Nevada. It was said that was the probable cause of this accident.

I used to do a lot of back county road corner carving, late at night when other people weren't around. One night on my cool down run back into town, going the speed limit, I hit a large dog that ran out of the woods in front of me. He came out so close I didn't even get my foot onto the brake pedal before I was over him. I was lucky, some people had been seeing black bears around. Since then I've stayed very tame on the street, and that was 2 years ago.

In the incident that started this thread, I've very happy that everyone survived, not only because, well, dying sucks, but also because I think living from it and telling about it probably reaches more people than if there had been deaths.
