The fastest swap to do would be to swap your entire car. If you're going to be getting 40 grand when you turn 18 and you want to stick with Civics... get an 8th gen Civic Si and a Turbo Kit installed. You'll love it way more, trust me.

DUDE go out and get an evo9 or the new 07 sti. upgrade from there. I wish I can have 40 grand, because getting the evo would be the first thing to get on my list.
LS7 swap with RWD conversion from a vette, wait there is already that blown ls1 swaped crx so i guess you wouldnt be faster than that unless you modded the ls7 as well. LOL

Never thought that I would be giving this advice, but you are only 18 and while 40 grand may seem like a lot of $, trust me it is not. If I were you I and you really wanted a swap, I would swap in a K20a2 and set you budget at 8k. Then take the rest of the $ and invest it in a good savings account such as ING, or maybe some low-moderate risk stocks. This will get you well on your way to paying for a college education, and if that is not an issue than it will be a nice piece of $ to start your life when you graduate college. Trust me, this is coming from someone who's annual household income is twice that. I spent my $ foolishly in college (mainly on my car), and now I am paying for it every month when I pay my $500 student loan payment. I have a house and live nicely, but it could be a ton better if I would have listened when someone gave me this same advice.
