chirping into 3rd in an lx?

hey everybody. i was getting on to the interstate today and felt like taking off so i floored it in second going about 35 well i was nearly redlineing in 2nd gear and hit the clutch, pulled back to a lil more then half throttle keeping the rpms up and threw it into third and popped the clutch. it was one of the fastest shifts from second to third i've ever done and as i released the clutch really quickly i heard the tires chirp. i was like. NOOOO WAYY!!!!!
now i know i can easily screech them going into second but i've never chirped them into 3rd before and was wondering if anyones been able to do this. my mods include a 2 inch drop on stock tires with prob 50 percent tread on steelies WITH hub caps a muffler, short shifter, K&N air filter, sythetic oil, and thats it. i have no v-tec so you EX guys dont try to be like "oh what a loser my sister can do that". lol

Unless the road was wet, or you have some seriously shitty tires, I dont think its possible.

edit: You are on the POS stock tires, so it may be possible. I rode around with heavy ass 17's for a long time.

i know i hate these wheels and tires. i'm currently looking for some 17's with nice tires.

but maybe i'll try to get my friends palm pilot thing that takes video and sound and make a lil clip of it if you guys dont believe me.
it was a hot day and i had just rolled windows up and hadnt turned on ac yet. but i distinctly heard the tires chirp. it wasnt a loud screech or anything and it didnt last long but i know for a fact i heard it.

A hot day makes it harder to believe. Warmer tires and street is more traction..

i was gettting on to the interstate though i just thought of this so i was makeing like a 5-10 degree, not really a turn. but you have to kinda steer to the right just a lil bit. barely at all. i dont think it makes that much difference and i'm fairly possitive that i can chirp then into third again on a highway.

to me, its sounds like you "speed shifted" or stayed in the throttle in between shifts letting the rpms climb while the clutch is in. Sure its believable. But doing that, even not at full throttle will toast the syncros in your tranny in no time. congrats

ehhh.... I believe you! My brother did it by accident, I didnt believe him, and I did it by accident so yeah..... it's possible... but I had the Firestones back then sooo..... and to chirp doesnt require that you shift quick. I also dont recommend doing that often.... especially if you upgrade to stickier tires.

with stock tires i can believe. The stock tires suck. I chirped my stock tires just from stopping from 20mph to 0 and going off the line raising my rpm to 3k while accerelating. This is with an auto too. Just get better tires.

yeah i know. i dont do it very much at all but i just wanted to see if it could pull you back in the seat while shifting into 3rd. yeah i guess i "speed shifted" like you said, where i didnt completely let off the gas before shifting but i had the clutch in all the way to the floor so i dont know how it could hurt the syncros. i dont know much about transmissions though. even though i kept my foot on the gas while fully clutched, the rpm needle never bounced off the rev-limiter so the engines not gonna blow up if i do it again while racing a ferrari will it? im not really gonna race a ferrari but will it hurt the car?
