I'm sitting at a light here in knoxville, when a stock, brand new silver Tc pulls up next to me. (I've got an a/t, wheels, intake, and exhaust) I rev, he revs. Light turns green, we go. I figure he's gonna spank me. He overtakes me till about 35mph, at which point i pass him. He's still gunning it, i can hear/tell. I let off at about 60, after i top out 2nd gear, and i tap my brakes to let him know i'm lettin off, at this point i'm probably 2 lengths ahead of him. We take it back down to 40 and go again. I overtake him immeadiately, as this is my most powerful starting speed (top end of 2nd gear). Finally I turn and he goes past me.... How the fvck did I outrun a Tc?

Those TC's can are pretty fast...yup, he was prolly just fvking w/ you...

lol, this reminds me of a dream I had last night... for some reason I had a mini van... and I never fiberglassed in my life... But for some reason I was bonding and fiberglassing the sliding door shut... Scary dream...
Yeah, my gf has a tC and the only reason I can beat her is b/c I have a m/t.
I would like to see a m/t Civic Si run against a m/t tC, I think that would be a good race.
I've ran my friend dan's m/t TC many a in my SI and it goes the same way everytime, he pulls bottom end (2.4L= more torque) and then I pull top end around 80mph and end up around 110 I've got 1 1/2 solid cars on him

an auto civic no way. you got maybe 100whp modded, the tc has at least 40whp on you if it was stick. Even if the tc was auto, its still making alot more hp.
Well here was i think. My roomate has one had we race em some times.
His is stock and I have I h E drop high flow cat
Unless i take off very well i NOrmaly dont have him pull more than a car lenth on me......
Just the other nite we shifted into 4th and he barley had 1 car lenth on me....
Basically Its a drivers race between a stock tc and modded civic.....
But if i have a shitty lauch then its alll over.....
plus he shifts at 6500 so that extra rmp does help! WE have never race all through 4th though......
you've got some odd stories man! if the tC was spaking new, he was probably breaking it in (NOT pushing the car) and wanted to see if break in speeds/driving style can match a Civic.

Edmunds says a stock ex runs around 16.3 and a stock tc runs around a 15.7 15.8 were talking about half a sec on the quarter mile..... Its a drivers race between us..... Most of the times he beats me but i stay right by him....
Also he is stock and having a cold air intake highflow cat header and cat back exhaust does help out a little!!! If he mishifts or boggs it down when he lauches thats how i mean .....
What we need to do is race from a stop on the highway cause we have never raced all of fourth gear and he normally starts pulling some where in 3rd!
i think i saw a similar story on atutomotiveforums.com under the honda section. someone search it see if you get it i looked and all i got is people ranting on cavaliers in a post about a civic vs a scion tc. anyway, i dont think they're that fast anyway.
