a little 626 fun

I was at a light with my windows down, sunroof open taking in the warm sunlight when a mazda 626 pulls up next to me with two guys in it. I take a little notice, but I am not in the mood for a race today. The light turns green and I begin to pull away when I hear the sound of a WOT engine at my rear 1/4 pannel. Still not wanting to race I let them instantly pull about a car on me, but then my curiousity gets the best of me (I really know nothing about the 626 and how fast it is) and I take the bait. I floor it in second and pull without much trouble by the time I let off in 3rd I have about 5 cars and let off. He goes flying by and catches the next red light. At the time we were on a 6 lane highway (3 on each side) he was in the center lane and I was in the right. As we near the light he makes a quick lane change into the left lane becuase either he did not want to look at me or he thought that he would get a better tail wind for round 2 in that lane. Well no such luck the light turns he punches it and I pull off somewhat slow with no launch (no need to waste the tires on him). I wait until he gets about two cars and then punch it in first, pull back rather quickly and let off at around 60-65 with about a 3 car lead. I then let off again and he goes flying by with no

. I did some research and found out that there is a 6 and a 4 cyl. both are far from fast, but I swear that by the sound it had to be the 6cyl. I have never heard a 4cyl. sound like that. However by the severity of the beating the 4cyl. would be more realistic I guess I will never know

yeah i had an encouter iwth a saab 93 that i thought would smoke me ( we were at a roll from 30 when the girls took off, so i took off too). i thought id get smoked but after MY 2nd gear they were no farther ahead then when they started, since they were in front of me at a light. and by mid 3rd, i was pulling, me having an AUTO of course (them too)) but yeah its nice having a little suprise every once in a while.

i used to drive a 626 before i got my vic, they come in 4 forms i think here in australia

nfi wasnt a big 626 fan, but i know that you can do mx6 engine conversions ( dunno what their engines are called) but its the 2.2 turbo, but then again the way you shat on him/her i think they were running the na 4. or maybe they were just bad drivers with a slusher (auto)
