Question Is 7th gen civic faster than 6th gen civics?

Are 01+ civics faster and handle better than 96-00 civics? EX wise I guess.

for handling 96-00 >> 01+, two reasons, 1. Double wish bone suspension and 2. about 250 lbs lighter.

As for speed, I'm going to say there is little differecne for stock wise.

Maybe a little, but we are only comparing EX's here. Si's are a different story.

The 7th gen civic is faster in every trim line than the 6th gen civic.

Except in the case of the Si. The 6th gen Si is faster than the 7th gen Si.

As for handling, I think that yes, the 6th gen civic generally does better in auto-x than the 7th gen. zzyzx could give you a definite answer on that though.

They are very similar hp wise. Although after some mods, the 7thgen will fall behind.

I would say no because the car is old and has prolly lost hp over time (unless you're really good about maintenance.

i have an '03 EX sedan, but i'm not biased by any means...my roommate has a 2000 EX coupe, and we race just about every day on the 15 mile drive heading home from work, and the only department his car comes out on top in is braking...so i say you should be good to go kick some 6th gen a$$...good luck...

7th gen got slightly bigger injectors but then again aftermarket turbos are made for 6th gen. For Instance, we want a greddy turbo kit but greddy only makes one for the 6th gen which sucks balls.

Ya basically no company has developed any kind of turbo/sc for our engines. They think it's not worth the trouble.
