Yeah, I knew he started this at clubrsx too. Heck, that's how I came to the thread at 7thgen...haha. I was just reading up on the Type S because I love that car. I love the civic, but I would take an 05 Type S over it anyday.

Ok check this out my roomate owns a tc 5speed! Now I have driven it many times. Now yes it is way more torque then are civic but it weightl like 2900 pounds with driver My vic weigh 2570 with me in the car! The few times we raced i didt really pull on him att all but when he did get ahead it was never more than one car lenth! And when we raced and i got ahead i didt really pull on him at all! Also his rev limter hits at like 6500 rmps where mine is like 7000 or so.
Anyweighs stock its supposed to run hi 15 and when iam runnin low 16's i can see how its possible to beat one. Plus i know i can drive better than him!
latz-
edit he is stock and I have the basic I H E high flow cat!

discrepecies in your post. Firstly, your civic does not weigh 2570 w/ driver. You must be some skinny ass dude plus a lot of weight reduction done to the car if so. A stock EX weighs about 2550 i believe. Secondly, i would hardly count 16.5 as running in the "low 16's".

that being said, this thread needs to be locked.

agreed. Low 16's are anything 16.1-16.3, mid 16's anything 16.4-16.7, high 16's- 16.8 and 16.9

16.5 is not low 16's, that's what you call mid 16's. Also how did you even get a mid 16's with a 2.5 60'?...

anyways, tC will own period (stock vs. stock). It's got more HP and a hell of alot more torque. For the tC to loose, he'd half to scalp his eyes out prior to the race and have oprah winfrey eating a big mac in the pasenger seat.

First off how much do you weigh? Your no jenny craig guy yaself. Anyways, a ex coupe MT weights 2598lbs. And your saying with you in the car you weighed it @ 2575lbs? Let say your pushing a respected 200lbs (if that's you in your profile pic, you are).

2598lbs + 200lbs = 2798lbs; Thats pushing more like tC territory now.

But you say with you in the car it weighs 2575lbs, so where is the weight reduction of 223lbs? Back seat or pasanger seat? AC? Spare tire? cf hood or trunk? CF steering wheel or e-brake, no dash or speedo guages... lol? Dude, your car is stock cept for I/H/E and that gets you what? 5-7hp total? Yes only that much because your engine isnt mad for huge hp gains, its made for gas (getting from point A to point B). Put those same mods on a sI or type-S and they'll see gain over 10hp+ easily. There no-way possible you ex with you weights 2575lbs, that means the EX would have to come in stock lbs about 2375lbs, haha... what do you think you car is a lotus?

I saw a new TC out at the local scene last night. I wanted to run him but the cops were out in full force. i'll see if I can set something up next weekend. It's a stock 5spd with 17" Arospeed rims. I'm just curious to see how fast/slow they really are. they have torque but they are heavy as hell. Sport compact tested one with an intake and exhaust and it ran a 15.7. So a stock one is beatable and even a lightly modified one depending on drivers.

If he gutted 75% and runs a 1/2 tank of gas like me then it's possible. That's good for 200lbs reduction. I have yet to weigh my car with me in it but I estimate somewhere around 2400lbs.
