Not a smart move man. I think you might lose that 1k. If you have some internals done, you'd better turn up boost a little more. 9psi is too conservative for a $1k race.

he may even have stuff you dont know about like comin out running drag radials or something. Hes obviously pretty confident to throw down $1k on a race. but we warned you!! lol make sure you get a vid win or lose and let us know the outcome!
Have you gotten your car dynoed? The stock Z has a power to weight ratio of 11.2. So if you're putting down 220hp at the wheels, your p/w should be 10.9. Don't forget about torque to weight and his RWD, too. I think the race will be very damn close.
they put 287 to th crank not to the wheels so the power to weight will be higher then 11.2. But member he may not be stock!! People that illegal usually lie! You wouldnt be able to tell if he had a new clutch/flywheel. but again good luck!
Personally I wouldn't race for money unless I was running 6's and i know I'd win. Sadly alot of people have the same mentality as me, they won't race for money unless they KNOW they will win, leading me to believe that the 350 is probably fixed up. Me thinks the 350 will magically grow a nitrous setup when its time to race. BTW some people that have nitrous Do consider themselves stock because they only see nitrous as a different type of fuel for an otherwise stock car.
BTW how did this race come about?
1) He challanged you for $1000, you accepted
2) You challenged him for $1000, he accepted
3) He wanted to race and you say "Lets make it interseting, lets go for $1000"
4) You wanted to race and he said "Lets make it interesting, lets go for $1000"
If #1 happened then you are left with a few possibilites, either A) he thought he'd challenged you and you'd obviously decline and he'd look cool, so if you accepted that would cause him to seriously think to himself "Why would a civic want to race a 350 for $1000" he will then come to the conclusion that you are either dumb or you have a built motor, more than likely he will realize you have a built motor and won't show up for the race. B) He's dumb and just challenges cars for money hoping the other guy will accept.
If #2 happened either A) He has already thought to himself "Why would a civic want to race a 350 for $1000" He then accepted your challenge to save face and has no intention of showing up because he thinks you've got a built motor. B) He thinks you are trying the "He won't race for money" trick in his mind you challenged him thinking he wouldn't accept and you go brag to your friends that you punk'd a 350, so he accepted because he thinks he'll win and doesn't want people talking bad about his car. C) He has a "whatever" mentality, If you win he has no intention of paying, and you can't really make him pay. If he wins then he definatly expects you to pay and will probably bring some buddies to "make" you pay.
If #3 happened either A) he thinks your trying to get out of a race by pulling the "I only race for money" excuse along with the "He won't race for money" trick or B) Again he wonders "why would a civic race a 350 for money blah blah blah" he then relaizes your car is quick or you are dumb.
If #4 happened either A) he thinks hes going to win either way so why not take your money as well. B) He's heard about your car and knows he might lose so he pulled the "Maybe he won't race for money" trick
Give us some background. Do you know the guy personally? Does he know your boosted? Do you know for a fact that he's stock? Whats the guy like? How old is he? Does he look like he has $1000? Is it his car? Does he seem like the kinda guy who will fight you before he pays you? But most importantly who brought up racing for money?
But in the end the guy could be thinking one of the following
1) He has no intention of paying if he loses, but expects $1000 if he wins
2) Hes not stock
3) He doesn't plan on showing up cause he thinks your sporting a built motor
I am the 350Z alot of you know me! I am 100% stock, I can barely afford the payments let alone mods. I wanted to get my ECU Flashed to allow me to go to 7100 rpm instead of 6200 and tweak my fuel ratios. But I will wait till after the race to do that and maybe win my grand back then, but I still think i am going to win anyway. I have 9 years of driving a stick from a jeep to a Z. RWD is my specialty. I hated the FWD civs.
Anyway i am not illegal or a lier EVER. I know you didn't know it was me so i am not taking offense. link to my thread http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthre...threadid=47319 but you can't view it unless you register. Don't trash the board please!
We are still up in the air about the G, mostlikely we will go for fun but we might go for some money but mostlikely not a G. Just to make it a little interesting.
