Coastie and I went out to the 1/8 mile track last night. EEN was supposed to come race with us but he pussied out.
Coastie's Car:
'01 LX Auto
Injen SRI
My Car:
'02 EX Manual (Dynoed at 116hp 2 weeks ago)
AEM CAI
REVO SS
Tanabe SRM Exhaust
CF Hood
No more sound system(I wanted to be really light this time)
Race 1:
Against Coastie, I get a huge jump on him and beat him by about 2 car lengths.
Race 2:
Against Coastie, I beat him but he was at my door the whole time.
Race 3:
Coastie whipped my ass. I bogged of the line and his damn automatic beat me by about a car length. GOOD JOB COASTIE!!!
Race 4:
I redeemed myself and beat him by a good car and a half.
Race 5:
This race was against a 2002 V6 auto Mustang. I was anxious to see if I could beat him. He didn't want to race so finally after goating him into racing we lined up. I got a nice jump on him off the line and held it all the way through the end of the race. hehehee
I told you all that our lil' D17's could beat V6 stangs. I also ran my best time of the night that time. I ran 11.000 flat at 63.372 mph.
I'm still kinda pissed that I haven't been able to break into the 10's yet but I'm also running on bald stock steelies. Soon I'll have my drag rims and slicks. Right now my 60 foot times are only 2.4 - 2.5.

I'll have my turbo fairly soon. Then we will see how well I can do. Also, after I get my new lighweight flywheel installed and drag clutch we will see if that helps.
I ran a 10.555 at 65.96 on my Civ. 02 EX 5-speed. 17"wheels, ebay intake, mozart rear section, jet ecu and a 300lb system in my trunk. Tires were at full psi by the way. What rpms do you launch at?

I launch at 3000-3500 rpms. But when I do I get mad wheel spin. I don't grip for a good 20ft. That shows you how bald my tires are. If I launch at anything below that, my car bogs and I get a horrible run.
I think you should fix your tires before you mess with the clutch/flywheel. the lighter flywheel will make it harder for you to launch correctly. Instead of slicks you should probably just get some good dragradials or even good street tires would help you out. you're 60' should be around 2.2 and you will see mid 10's easy!! good luck!
I am looking for some 14x8 rims right now. I will probably put some BFG's on there to start. But I already have the flywheel and I will have the clutch this month. They are gonna be installed before i get my wheels just because i don't like to sit on something once i've got it. I want to get it all installed ASAP.
yeah By the time my car gets back in like 2weeks I'll have a new 8lbs flywheel and upgraded clutch kit. So Good luck and be prepared to stall! lol Also just putting on better tires wont help as much as learning to launch so you'll still have to work things out with the new stuff!
Yea, I heard that when you get a lighter flywheel and new clutch that it's like learning how to drive stick all over again. LOL
The tires that I have on my 17's have tons of grip. I just don't wanna ruin them at the drag strip. So that's why I throw on the stock steelies to run. I can burn them up and it doesnt matter.
how did an auto LX with nothing but an SRI beat a Manual EX with more mods? I am sorry....but good job on the stang.....I love racing mustangs who think they are fast!

I basically fugged up. I didn't get my RPM's up to where i wanted before the lights on the christmas tree turn so when i popped the clutch my car bogged and Coastie(the LX driver) owned my ass. LOL. He's my friend. He did a damn good job. But no matter what my screw up was he won. It's all part of the race.
Actually the mustang driver didn't wanna race me. I had to talk some trash and goat him into racing me. lol......I was being the ass in that situation cause i wanted to race him.
Yeah it was a fun night although I only one one race. I was running low 11's around 62mph ..a little better than the stock airbox. Fly did beat the stang v6!!. It was awesome! If the track was any longer though the stang would have took him. His speed was way faster at the end. I think the stang was doin around 68 when they crossed the line. Nice victory for the Civics and nice drive'n by Fly
My best 1/8th mile was a 7.6 @ 80 mph. I Got off it and got on my brakes because i thought it went lean. That was my pass @ 13 psi with my portwork. I ran a 14.3 1/4 mile at 97 mph on 5 psi with the portwork.
