The third gear scratch is possible...At the time my 01 EX had only a full-length 4-1 header (once again not a DC or any other common brand header) with a 2.5 inch mandrel bent custom exhaust. I also had at the time 195x50x15 Bridgestone's (that would be like having a ring and pinion change in a rear wheel drive car) and was able to obtain a 3rd gear scratch on occasion.

i believe you chriped into 3rd, ive done it on a '00 ford ranger stock, anybody can do it. you just have to be a good driver to do it.

I was able to chirp in 3rd with my old 01 EX. But I had a ACT stage 2 clutch.
