First Ever Track Run

Had my first go @ the track ..it was hot out 30 degrees celcius and the track conditions were prettty shitty, no one could get good launches....anyways i've got a CAI, and an axel back....i'm riding on 17's that are pretty heavy. oh and i'm a stick.

i raced a 99' SIR 5 times....the first 3 times i was about .1 - .2 secs back

then i started getting the feel of the launches and the shifts and the second last race i lost by .06 secs

the last race he ran his second best run of the day and i did my best run....

R/T-.894
60'-2.510
330-7.123
1/8-10.955
MPH-62.5
990-14.247
1/4-17.046
MPH-80.45

i did one other race agianst another 2002 coupe.....dont know what model it was but i know it was a 5 speed with a kit and 16 or 17's on it. I did a 17.133 and had a bad R/T, he did a 17.467 with a .710 reaction

overall not too bad i think, considering the conditions

the way i launch is i hold the revs at 3k and when the last yellow lights i floor it and feather out the clutch. its hard on the clutch to do that but i get consistant 2.3 60 fts and once got a 2.2. just a tip for ya. take a bag of ice next time and put it on your intake pipe until you get in line also.

Civicly02 - no i've got the dx 5 speed, i've installed pretty much all the lx parts though...just didnt feel like paying the extra cash from a dealer when you can DIY for half the cost

old beater - ya i brought ice but never used it....i did about 2 or 3 runs then let her cool..then 2 more and repeat....i think my revs were to high...i'm gunna try 3 next time and see if i can get a hold of the wheel hop

oh and one more thing, lower your front tire pressure. i run the stock tires at 20 psi at the track. but remember to air them up when you get back home cause you can wear out your tires quick doing that. im going for the first time in a long while tomorrow. ill post about how it goes.
