6thgen SI got owned by EX
Last night Redcivic04 and I were running our cars when I came up to a stop light and here coming across the intersection was a 6thgen SI (B16) drove by and I just had to get him to run me. We pull up to the next light side by side and we both pull of normally. I shift from 1st into 2nd and get to about 5,000 rpm and he punches it and as do I. For him jumping me in an SI 6thgen he still lost to the 02 EX 
. That has to suck...

we went from like a 30mph roll when he gunned it before me, and I still managed in an EX to pull enough on him to put his a$$ 1/2 car lengh behing me...his car was black, lightly modded it seemed it looked like he got a little mad because when I slowed down he just kept flying by and never slowed down to maybe run again from a dig...

Rep Power: 0 Yeah I wanted to run you at that light. I was looking over to see if you were ready. Then you turned all of a sudden. If I would have know I would have followed. Good kill. Wish I could have witnessed it. I think we will have to settle our battle at the track to be fair. Too close on the street. The best driver will be on top in the end.

Redline04 you will get your chance I will be out tonight...And we will def go to the track to settle it once and for all but by then I will have more mods on the car...

Rep Power: 0 1320racing you think without your power pulley and your aemv2 you would be able to take the SI, or you felt power increase with those mods?...also unless he is a real bad shifter, then its a possibility. What happened when you shifted out of 2nd? and out of 3rd? did you get a little hop at all? or you guys were dead even all the way? The reason I'm asking is because my friend has a 6th gen SI, so I'm just curious if I'd be able to take him. 1/4 Mile for sure we'll lose but off a roll I don't know.

He looked young and prob didnt know how to run, if so he shouldnt have ran me...
We were side by side bumber to bumber doing like 35-40 mph (unsure) but I remember being at 5,000 rpm in 2nd gear...when I looked at him and said lets run em and not after I said that he floored it (so he got the jump) then I gunned it and pulled enough to put him 1/2 car length behind me. I tried to get him to run me from a dig. Your car is better from a dig. The B16A should have eating me up off a roll so I dont know what happened. If you run your buddy I would do it from a deg then from different rolls 10mph, 20mph, 30mph and see how you do. The pullies made the engine rev up faster so I would say maybe 5whp if that but I havent dynoed the car yet. But when he hit it I could here his VTEC engage and he started to scream and I was like its all over but he just kept slippin back. I was like WTF I couldnt believe it myself. Unless he was a punk a$$ and put SI tags on an EX then the next time I see him I will pull his H-Card and tell all, feed him to the dogs. But the SI is not that fast stock it just has TONS of potential.

Rep Power: 305 si's run 15's with ease with basic mods. maybe a handful of lightly modded (non FI) civics can touch 15's
i'm not doubting you beat him. but anyone thinking they can repeat against someone who has driven their car for awhile should probably still consider it a long shot

Rep Power: 0 if this black SI is lowered with no rims then we talking about the same one...SAME ONE I KILLED ONE NIGHT then after I CAUGHT HIM FROM BEHIND ON 5PSI AND HORRIFIC SLIPPING CLUTCH....all I saw was....BLUE AND RED LIGHTS

Rep Power: 0 okay si'z don't dyno at 140whp im sure its much less...it comes stock with 160hp to crank so i think it would lose more then 20hp to the wheels, i could be wrong though. Also my friend is an extremely good driver, like seriosuly you know those jdm videos all those asian drivers....thats him, no offense to anyone. Next since your saying he hit vtec and didn't come back at ALL, then maybe you just have more power to be able to take him. But it could have not been an si, the only way to know is his front grill, lip, rims (if they weren't changed), exhaust, and see if it had a sunroof EX has sunroof though as well which im sure you know lol.

Rep Power: 787 I still don't understand how a nearly stock 7thgen is able to pull on much faster cars, even if they're automatic. A base rsx, si, prelude, accord? Don't these cars have more hp than a civic. I've driven my mom's 92 accord 4cyl and it would spank me in a race. I'm not calling you a liar, but I really think they didn't know how to drive. I've been in an auto rsx, 99 civic ex with cvt auto, and they were both WAY faster than the 7thgen vic. Granted the 6thgen had a few mods, but that thing pulled like crazy compared to mine.

Rep Power: 0 gearbox what your saying makes sense, but I don't all those people couldn't drive. Maybe his 7th gen is gifted :-). He should maybe give it a dyno and see what he gets. My friend with his GTI for some reason would beat every other GTI he raced, stock on stock, but that was because he was boosting like 2-3 pounds more than a normal GTI from the factory. A gifted GTI lol.

When I finish my car I will dyno it and post results...
Gearbox you drive an auto correct. I am a sec faster than auto EX's that I have run.
OH Yeah all the while I was sitting on 18 inch rims...
I will go to the track with 15's on it and run again though

Rep Power: 0 k i let him know and the race is on, he says the reason why i might beat him is because our torque band is completely different his peak torque is at 7600 compared to ours which is at 4800 so he has no low end, meaning race an SI like first gear roll around 3k you should get a good cars lead maybe half a car until he hits vtec then i dunno. but we're gonna race in these next few days i'll let you guys know what happens
