Hehe, made you click!
Actually... I've officially started working on my turbo. I modified my front bumper so that I can fit an intercooler behind it. I tried all sorts of ways to cut that stuff out, but in the end I used metal sheers. They did a very crappy job, and the edge was very (and I mean very) rough. No problem though, I used this cheese grater type tool to smooth out the edges. Sort of like a planer I guess...
Then I cut out little pieces of polyethelyne from this block of the stuff that I had when I made my battery holder. I pre-drilled them to accept a screw and I bonded them to the bumper using this special glue. It's very hard to glue polyethelyne to anything, but with this glue it was a sinch. Loctite makes it and I got it at Lowe's. Holds very well too, I can pick up the whole bumper by one of those. They're for attaching a grille to the bumper BTW.
The only thing I need now is a new grille. The old one isn't big enough. The opening will now be much larger than before. No more sag in the middle too, I hate the Tsunami for that. I think I'll get a stainless steel grille and clearcoat it to preserve that luster. Should look good. I scratched up the bumper a tiny bit during this whole process, so I'll be painting it when it's warmer out. I'll prime it and sand it and all that jazz. I'll make it look hella nice. Anyway, just sharing...

I just hope those poly-whatever things are able to hold, especially at 120mph
The opening does look larger, so you'll need the new grill. Where are you going to pick one up? Also is there enough room for the plumbing??
BTW, this guy can take bumpers off of cars in about 3 minutes. He took mine off and put it back on in a flash.......
I remember seeing a stainless steel version of the same grille that I have at Lowe's. Hopefully my memory isn't flaky.
No plumbing remember? Mine will be an air-to-water intercooler. That means flexible lines, so I can snake them through quite easily.
Okay, I'm done. Turned out pretty good. These pics aren't the best in the world. The flash highlights the darkness behind the grille. Oh well, better pics coming soon I guess...
Looks nicer than it actually is I think. It has a few scratches no the bottom from steep driveways. Plus some scratches and what not up front from rocks and bugs and all that other road dirt. I think my camera has a tendancy to hide the imperfections. That and maybe I have a lot of clearcoat on my bumper. I'll be repainting it sooner or later though, so it'll look even better. Thanks for the compliment though.
Damn it! It turned out that I used too little clearcoat. After some rain the grille started to rust up on me. I re-did everything. I took off the bumper, I used a wire brush to clean the rusted grille. WD-40 and an orbital sander and then a coarse sanding pad. I think the coarse sanding pad worked the best, but the wire brush was good too. Anyway, I painted it by hanging the pieces on tiny wires. That way I could cover all of the edges. I painted several coats and I think I got it all. Only time will tell though.
If it starts to rust up again, then I think I'll just chuck that grille in the trash and get an aluminum one. That won't rust for sure. That's what I had, but I couldn't find any for a cheap enough price. Well, $17 for the steel compared with $35 for the aluminum. I guess that's what you get when you go thr cheap route. Anyway, wish me luck...

RiceBurner's turbo produces that much horsepower at 8psi. Mine will spool quicker and cool better at lower rpm's. Plus I plan on upgrading the internals and going higher than 8psi. People are dissin' you because of your attitude. Plain and simple.

oh yea why r u keeping ur ac? what a waste of power man take it the heck out bro u will gain more power from the loss on one pully
Oh yeah, I don't need my A/C.
Or my back seats.
Or my interior body panels.
Or my rear aftermarket wheels.
Or my body panels.
Or my lights.
You can take off all you want to make your car faster, but it's all about a balance of horsepower and comfort. I don't want to be roastin' my ass off in the summer time.
Yeah, I know...
I feel sorry for DX's and HX's who didn't get that option. Well, unless they live way up north. Then again, it can get hot up north too.
Its a fortunate thing that you can equip a DX with an a/c. I planned mine out perfectly....I have a DX and bought it in November. Saved up till about March, bought a brand new oem ac and had it installed for a little under a grand. True I didn't get all the extra accessories, but I'd bet I have a lower monthly payment....which is why I went that way...no vtec though.
