OK here's a pre-update update.
Day 9 Pre-Update
Ran into a knowledge gap in the old brain pan today. Couldn't figure out how to route vac lines and PCV system with the catch can.
Dunt da dah!!
I did it, with a bit of help from boilermaker1 (mad propz as usual) and some of the local gang on 4guk.co.uk (4th gen, dual carb Civic nutters).
Here's the new and improved 'foos vac line diagram:
And how I made my craptastic 'JDM' Ebay catch can into a blingin', mad effective, baffled UKDM catch can!
Here's your standard "JDM" oil catch can from Ebay. It looks so nice. Just like that tart (UK speak for a hooo-ore) there on the corner. Probably just as cheap too.
Lay her down, open her up.......Pheww!! That looks awful! You get what you paid for mate! Careful you don't take something home with you that you didn't have when you left!
OK time to cut the innuendo and make some baffles! This is that JB Weld stuff I love so much. Its not just for fixin' radiators!
Now just slide it into the can, nice and easy.
Be sure and use plenty of.......JB Weld.
Of course, you also want to stick one in her bottom. We don't want any oil going into the turbo intake.
JB Weld the whole mess back together and presto! Its done. A newly fixed, UKDM catch can, complete with baffles!
I'll paint it in about an hour once the JB Weld cures. I'm using the Kwik set version which sets in 3-4 minutes and cures in an hour.
Oh, and in case you're wondering, that took just about an hour and a half to do.
