Re: Back in Biznass (Pg 87) - The Speedfoos' Turbo Thread!!
Yeah, I thought about it and I may just order one. I was going to run without it, but I probably shouldn't. Although I can probably just re-use my existing 2-1/2" one and just put it after the cat if I don't feel like shelling out another $40 on a flex. I'll sleep on it tonight and think about it.

Re: Back in Biznass (Pg 87) - The Speedfoos' Turbo Thread!!
looks good mang. where is the wideband going? i suggest as far down the pipe as you can. like somewhere next to the downstream O2 sensor.i fried one being k=like right at the end of the short dp. in the dezod DP there were two bungs in the short pipe. i ran the wideband in the second of the two. and i had a bung in the long pipe under the car. thats where the second 02 went. well like two months into it i noticed my sensor faulting out. so i replaced it and moved the bung for the wideband to where the second o2 was. hasnt had a hiccup yet. but just a suggestion.
Clint, Those welds look pretty darn good! One suggestion, when you make the last pass, use a "U" pattern. Staring on left side, go down, across and then up; then down, across and up.. Make the pattern wider than your seam by 3/32" on both sides.
Practice on a flat piece and watch how nice of a weld you can make, Will be make the joint a lot stonger and less chance of a pin hole leak.
Rep to you for having such a cool son (from one Dad to another) and secondly for being welding pro.

Have you finished the exhaust yet Clint?

Re: Back in Biznass (Pg 87) - The Speedfoos' Turbo Thread!!
Back from travel. Please no /thread or /speedfoos guys, I would like to keep this one running regardless of all of the differences and drama that has been going on.
Minor updates, more problems than progess.
The place I ordered my O2 bungs (www.voodooboost.com) appears to be out of business. I'm out $15 and some more time while I wait for the new ones to arrive from Ebay. Inshallah, they will be here on Tuesday.
I appear to have fried some of the diodes in my alternator. Prior to the one day at the track, my voltmeter was rock solid at 14.5 volts when the car was on. Now it ranges anywhere from 13.2 - 14.0 volts and occasionally kicks down to 12 and dies. Wee! It's slowly dying and I really don't feel like buying a new one just yet. Gonna run it till it blows completely and then just upgrade to a HO one. Gonna need it since I'm adding another 1200-watt RMS draw from the 2 amps sitting behind me.
Warped head is still on the car, but I don't push coolant as long as stay under 6K on the tacho. This is doable because it's still fun when I boost from 3k-6k! I took it on a fairly long drive on this trip (3 hours one way, about 140 miles) and it did just fine. I even managed to pull around 30mpg. The head will still be coming off as soon as shit out some more cash for the HG set.
Good news is that my new D/S Brembos and PBR pads are here and will be going on tomorrow!

Re: Back in Biznass (Pg 87) - The Speedfoos' Turbo Thread!!
Clint, how do you know your head is warped? Plus....in the 5 years I'm been in the car business, I have never seen a car with a warped cylinder head not overheat.
My car has not pushed coolant in two weeks!!!! Strange huh I think it pushed coolant because it was so damm hot here. 14 psi cap is just not enough with the turbo heat. I need a high psi rated cap, hopefully it was raise my boiling point so my coolant will not run into the overflow. I'm gonna try a new cap & wait for summer...see what happens
oh. p.s! my car got backed into by a damn sorostitute....
