Re: Back in Biznass (Pg 87) - The Speedfoos' Turbo Thread!!

OK. I can't control what goes on while I'm sleeping. My wife gets on to me for this too after I've been drinking Guinness (apparently the results are an olfactory delight), so I'm sure it gets crazy up in here when its night-night time in the UK and I can't monitor.

Track is postponed for this month while I take Richard's advice and take my time to do the exhaust and DP tomorrow and Sunday. I was going to go on Sunday but I would be rushed to do since I'm fixing two other folk's cars tomorrow as well. I really need to start charging people for this stuff.....

How did you spin a bearing Edwin? Dumb question I know, but that sucks. Don't part it out and let the buzzards pick over the corpse of your Civic.

Here's a couple pics of the ports. One exhaust and two intake. Then I gotta get to work and won't be back till late tonight (de-motion to oversee).

I'm a little worried as it looks like the exhaust ports were hogged out a little too much and don't leave much material around the edges to make a seal. Let me know what you think folks. If so then the cam and springs come out and go in my stock head.

Re: Back in Biznass (Pg 87) - The Speedfoos' Turbo Thread!!

holy crap they bored the shit out of those holes

anyways, i think the spun bearing is my oil leak from last year coming back to haunt me...oil level went down really low right before the turbo took a shit on me and i thought all was good i have ZERO leaks now, but i think it's rearing its ugly head at me..

Re: Back in Biznass (Pg 87) - The Speedfoos' Turbo Thread!!

They are huge but I'm still going to give it a shot. Yes I will be port matching the manis to some extent. Just enough to smooth out the transition. I'm going to completely stud the mani holes on the head as well, that and some decent gasket seal (thanks Dad!) should be able to give it a fighting chance. I had it checked over at the machine shop and they thought it was fine as well. We'll see. I may take a picture or two of how it works.....

Matt, the head cost me $600 +shipping. It was already ported and polished, with the Crower valve springs and cam installed. So even if the head is crap, I still break even due to the Crower goods. I can always make a table out the head or something.

Yeah Jose, my TOC was edited as well. I'm about to fix it.

Just got home from the Army business (it's 10:54pm) and they didn't bust my boy down in rank for his "little incident". Well they did kind of. He lost one rank and two months of pay and got 45 days of extra duty. But the commander suspendws the rank and pay for 180 days. Which means that as long he doesn't fuck up in the next 6 months, he loses neither rank nor pay. It's kind a stay of execution which is determinate on good behavior. If he slips up at all during these next 6 months, he's demoted instantly and loses a bunch of cash.

I'm set to the DP and exhaust tomorrow. I think the USPS gremlins ate my O2 bungs as they never showed up, so I will have to order to more before I can actually install it, but welding those on is easy. I can knock out the hard stuff tomorrow and Sunday.

i think the head should work with studded mani holes and a good gasket seal. i second another startup video request and good look with the exhaust welding.
