and civic7.com, and d-series.org, and well, i forget, how many others foos???
Cough..........Cough. I like my car. I want others to see it. I can type fast and maintain relationships with other forums.
DSeven, that's the Jet Hot coating from Dezod.
FoSho, I can't run my rad hose underneath the charge pipe, there's only like 1/4" of space between it and the subframe so she don't fit. You gotta throw that battery in the trunk and run a filter man! Hopefully the flexi works for you!

There's a good chance that I'm not going to answer your PM.
Bastards mixed up my order on the radiator elbow and hose joiner. So instead of the parts I need to fix my pinched lower hose, I received this instead.
This is killing me.
Note to self, "Don't undertake another major build without having 6 Autozones, 2 Discount Auto Parts, and 3 O'Reilly Auto Parts stores within a 15-mile radius". Bastards.

^^ that sucks man im really excited to see you running. been reading this thread for awhile looks very promising. its weird because everyone talks about how they get their online orders get messed up but i order online all the time and not once did anything go wrong with my order. weird?
99.8% of the time everything comes early and exactly as I ordered it. The .2% of the time that I haven't gotten what I ordered and when I expected it, has happened on this build. Oh well, just gotta roll with it.
I'm in the middle of futzing with my catch can. Came in for the camera, so I'll have a busy work update tonight.

Everyone's builds are making me upset. I have the old SFP manifold and its basically SOLID rust because I live 100ft from the beach. Almost everything in my engine bay is corroded or rusted and absolutely filthy. FoSho and speedfoos - I hate you guys. LOL

That sucks dude. Here's some more pictures to rub in how clean my engine bay is. But at least yours is running...
Install Day 14.80
After reading about catch cans, placement in the vapor path (higher=better), and kind of caring about passing emissions (for now), I decided to rework my catch can placement and routing. Thanks again for the H-T link gearbox (if you read this thread at all).
I had planned on just leaving it open and functioning as a gravity fed catch can. I realized this wouldn't work because it would be impossible to have both lines (PCV and VC) run downwards their entire path and end up in the can. I needed a small vac source.
Also the can needs to be up higher than I had it so there would be even less risk (combined with the baffled can) of oily crud getting into my turbo. So here's what I did.
Took your standard 1/4" NPT nipple and cut a groove in it so it would function like a slash cut hose in the intake tube of the turbo. Like this:
Then I tapped a 1/4" hole into my intake tube, and threaded in the nipple. This picture just shows my test fit to determine the orientation for the slash cut on the threaded side of the nipple. I o-ringed and RTV'd it once it was cut, but you get the idea. The rubber grommet to the left is for my IAT sensor.
Then I mounted the can on my passenger shock tower. Like so. Here are the money shots again Logic.
And she's done! I will be getting an inline filter here in the near future as well, just make damn sure no oil particles make their way into the intake on my turbo. The pressure in the tube is minimal, but will be enough to suck the vapor into the can, keeping everything green and clean.
To compensate for this odd turn of environmentally-friendly behavior, I will be increasing my carbon footprint by pouring all my used oil into my neighbor's garden. We don't like each other - they may not mind driving over their horse's shit in the driveway, but I do - so this kills two birds with one stone.

LOL - that's all I can do at this point, since the damn thing isn't running still! I am sooooo anal about having a clean car, but it sure makes it easier to work on though.
I go by my welder's tomorrow to have him tell me that my exhaust still isn't done. Mother Theresa was a hot head compared to me and Ghandi couldn't have been calmer than me if he was taking Xanax. I don't want "ugly Clint" to come out of the corner, but he just might have to if it isn't done.
I'm running out of things to keep myself occupied. Idle hands are the devil's workshop. Going to the junkyard tomorrow to find stuff to play with....

Once this thing is actualy running you're gona' have so much free time. I can see you ripping it all out and starting over, for lack of something better to do.
Oh no. I've got a D17 block to gear up and a PnP head w/ Crower springs, and S2 turbo cam to figure out how to tune before I slap it on. Got lots of stuff to do on this car! For lack of anything else, here's the list of mods I will be doing still:
o Custom trunk - going back to one (instead of 2) 12" sub and integrating everything so it flows
o installing my UKDM sidemarkers
o repainting my stock mirrors and putting them back on
o DSeven's (not his originally, but I'm drunk) Ebay grill mod
o sourcing lips and skirts
o finishing up my custom plug and play Y8 mani swap
o fully converting to a return-less system (just need the FPR)
o sourcing an S2K steering wheel conversion
o sourcing the rear disk conversion (neither of these are easy or cheap here in the UK)
o getting pillowball mounts for my 1st Gen Tein SS coilovers
o thinkin' about some fogs
Lots to do on this ride still! Once the short block is sleeved, built, installed and tearing it up, I'm going to slowly build the old motor as a grunty little N/A beast. Why? Just because!
