Re: Page 200 = Almost done - Again -The Speedfoos' Turbo Thread!! Post #3095
Well folks, Paul is here to pick up a bunch of parts today and we came up with a great idea for a business plan. We're going into business as a windshield replacement service. We only make house calls because we need access to household power for our cutting edge tools.
Here is our patent-pending process.
First we need to get access to the windshield to saw it out. The easiest place to get at it is the top of the A-pillar. A die grinder is our preferred tool, but can use a hacksaw if your children are sleeping.
We now have access to get to the windshield. Extra fee applies to un-customize your A-pillar.
Now the easiest way if for you to remove the dash before we arrive. If not, an extra fee applies again.
And the windshield is out! Paul is doing some fine touch-ups here with a propane torch. We guarantee that we can get your glass out in mostly one piece!
We did get the sunroof out in one piece...
Now to work on the firewall. Die grinder was the preferred tool of choice...
But that got a little tedious. Time for a quick workout.
Followed by some refreshments.
Which was then followed by a trip to Lowes to get something a little more suited to the job.
But wait! It's not too late! We can fix this. Time to halt the part-out, install some new seats and convert it to an RHD!
Job done!
Straight gangsta.
Moving right along.
And time for the custom chopped EM2. This thing is really light now! The tires are in there for ballast otherwise the chassis will fall off the jackstands.
I promise. We were gentle.

There's a good chance that I'm not going to answer your PM.

Because.
1. The entire roof and a quarter panel needed to be replaced for the body to be decent.
2. I am selling/sold the complete drivetrain, suspension, interior, lights, wiring harness, and so on - not possible to go back to stock.
3. I didn't want to see my shell riced out by some jerkbag later on down the road.
4. The parts are worth more than the car.
5. Scrap metal is worth $.08/pound.

LOL - I do. I pick it up on Sunday.
Bought it. Picking it up next weekend. I'm so fucking stoked. Over the next week and a half, I will be pulling everything off Sugar's carcass that I could possibly sell so I can make some room in the garage for this baby. Four door, 1966 Volvo Amazon which I have purchased for the grand total of $2000.
My wife already hates it, my Dad laughed at it, but I love it. To me, it reminds me of an old Nova II, but with better lines. I can't wait to put a wrench to this thing.
80,000 miles on the stock 4-cylinder. Look at this thing. Dual side-draft carbs!
I can't say that it's going to be in there that long. In fact it will come out very soon so I can fit a nice little 383 Stroker in it with a Weiand blower on the top! Just need to source a few parts to make it all work. This car is going to be fucking fun.
I have named her "Lucille" in memory of my Grandmother who passed away last week. Here's some more pictures. The guy still has the complete interior and everything that looks like it's missing, but lost his job so has to let her go. His only stipulation was to let me know the first time I take it to the strip. No problemo!
