hey clint, i have a clip that hangs off of the passenger side of my intake manifold, the clip color is grey. its in the same loom as the v tec selnoid have any idea what it is???

Did a few things tonight. Got some goodies...




That's my 1N004 diode on the left and a new ELD on the right. I had to mod my ELD plug a little to fit because the guy sent me the wrong one, but that's OK it worked. The diode was for Honder's "DIY Hi-beams stay on w/ low beams" mod which took 5 minutes and worked like a charm! You can't tell from the pic, but my brights are standard white halogens that look really cool with the 6K HIDs.







Then I finished up my glasspack tester tail pipe. I wasn't being precise on tacking it up and had this huge gap.






But I've been practicing my welds so I just cranked down the heat and wire speed, and took my time on the bead. One pass and it's filled!




I bought a gas conversion get so I can run an Argon multi-mix gas shield, but I haven't purchased a bottle yet so it's still flux-core city in Foosland.

Done.



Ugly but I don't care for 2 reasons.

1. This is all you see.




2. I'm probably never going to run it because it sounds like poop.

OOh man you are going to love your mig so much more once you start using argon gas instead of the flux-core wire. When I switched I was so amazed that I could actually see what I was doing. Plus no need to clean the welds lol...

Yeah, I can't wait. I'm getting pretty decent with flux-core, but it will be nice to not have to clean all the spatter off the welds and all the haze off my mask every five minutes!

Finished up the car tonight to be ready for inspection on Friday morning. Since we're not leaving for Missouri until Saturday now, I can get Sugar legal. I have a few things left to do once I get back from Christmas. Here they are:

- Remove stock head and swap valvetrain over to PnP head and install it
- Install new Crower turbo cam
- Remove PCS, sell it, install kpro
- Add return line to fuel system, install adjustable FPR (once Gerry finishes my rail)
- Install 625cc injectors
- Get water return port (bottom one) rotated on thermo housing so it doesn't hit my intake anymore
- Remove cat and install de-cat section
- Install the hood pins and shocks

I have almost everything for this list. The only things I'm waiting on is for Andy to ship the EBCS and MAP sensor, my cam to arrive (shipped today), I have to take the thermo housing down to my TIG welding shop, order the shock brackets, and I'm waiting on Gerry (who did my IM) to weld the tabs on my rail and send it to me.


Since I was pretty much done, I took some pictures of the bay! Eees sooo purty.

Tore down my PNP head tonight. First I had to mod my Ebay cheapie valve compressor. I couldn't get enough leverage with the 2" handle it had on there initially so I welded on a larger one.




Which made getting to this stage take only about 10 minutes. Everything except the freeze plugs is removed.




These are valve stem seals. They go on top of the valve guides (in the top of the head) and are hidden by the valve springs. I'm going to put new ones on.




Labeled and bagged. I labeled each valve and put them in bags for each cylinder.




PnP goodness. Just by looking I can see that this head won't flow as much CFM as my old head that Damian has, but its still better than stock.






I'm going to drop the head off tomorrow at a machine shop for a quick resurface and hot tanking so it will be ready to re-assemble and go on when I get back from Missouri.
