^^^ Yep.
So today is not a Dre day. Once again, if I had one, I would have to use my AK.
Day 10 of Install
First things first. Almost done with the scooter. Got the foot plate cut, painted and cleared, its just drying now. I need to re-wire the charger and plug on the scooter, but that will wait for tomorrow. If anyone remembers my "Time to tidy up the Teins" thread, you'll recognize this color green.
Gonna be cool when its done. No Travis, you can't have it. I know it matches your car, and its an automatic too, but you'll have to make it past the gun show to get it.
Since my couplers arrived today I figured I was good to go. II threw the gaskets on my turbo, made sure it was clocked correctly, teflon taped and installed the water and oil lines, and was ready to put it on. See? It's a burto.
I mean it's a torbu. Ah fuck it, you know what it is.
Well, I wrangled it into the engine, no small feat with our tiny little bay and everything attached to it, and bolted it up the head. I ran all the lines to their appropriate location and screwed them in. And then I saw something.
Any guesses as to what you're looking at?
Here. Try another picture.
Yep. Muthafucka. It does not clear the AC anymore. Not just the lines. It doesn't clear the left compressor mounting area. Jesus H. Christ. This kind of sucks. The downpipe originally did when Dezod had it designed, but I've modified it by adding a new flange on top of the old one and by putting it on a different turbo.
Then I thought about for a while. I looked at that picture of the gun show....and thought about it some more. I even thought about grinding away that part of the AC compressor and only using three bolts to mount it.
Then I came to the realization the AC is for the weak. It's coming out.
Now I just need to somehow find a the right-sized belt to run just the alternator off the crank pulley. I thought I remember a thread where someone listed it.
Does anyone know how to safely (for me, not the environment) release the freon from the system?
And yes, I'm still having fun.....
