The Official Day 9 Update
Some of you may have seen the conundrum I had figuring how to run my vacuum lines - or are they pressure lines, I guess it depends on the state of boost! Anyway, then I got sidetracked by a little catch can modification. All in all I got a fair amount done, but not everything I wanted to. That's OK. Tomorrow is a new day.
Finally mounted the vac mani. I fabbed a mount for it and also repainted it. It had a crappy powder coat job on it that was already chipping (and it was blue
) so I stripped it off and made it silver. Then I disconnected the PCV valve and used the inlet on the intake mani as a vacuum source. The PCV valve got replaced with a regular old NPT nipple and routed to the catch can.

And heres what it looks like now that its stripped, polished, and mounted.
I also swapped out my plugs for the colder NKGs and lengthened my IAT sensor so I can plug it into the intake pipe of the turbo. It used to be by the TB, now its by the tranny!

Then I didn't know how to route my vac lines and boiler helped me out with that and how to run my catch can setup. That distracted me for a bit and I ended up modding my cheapie Ebay catch can, turning into one that's actually worth a shit.
I took my VC vent here:
And plumbed into the inlet line of my catch can here:
With this T-fitting and some 3/8" stainless line.
And I mounted my catch can mount down by where the IC pipes sneak into the engine bay. That way I don't have very far to plumb the line into the intake pipe.
And that's pretty much all I got done today. Which was actually quite a bit. Measuring, cutting, and cleaning up SS lines is a real pain in the ass, plus the catch can work, and everything. Thanks for stopping by and you stay classy San Diego!
