but yea the abs thing is normal if your car doesnt have it. im just not sure if the light turns off when the wire sees ground or if you just dont connect it. its weird you even have that wire. but try removing it first and see what happens. you might wanna check how the colors are setup, im not sure if blu/red means blu wire with red stripe or the other way around.

ok, i can't win with this damned thing. I got rid of the abs light by taking the needles and guage face off, and putting some tape over the led. i'd be more concerned if my car had abs. i got the hi beam indicator working too, seems i bent the clip on the wire depinning the plug. that's all set now. i did, however manage to trip my srs light, somehow. so the new project is working on the diy reset. wish me luck.

i have a 2001 EX 2dr manual trans.

(a local friend is going to sell me)

2004 LX 4dr manual trans.


will i be able to use the same EXCEL spreadsheet given on this thread to do the swap? or will it differ beause he did an auto-auto swap and im doing a manual-manual swap? (no auto P,R,N,D,2,L drive pins?)...or ven 2dr vs 4dr

jsut wnna make sure before i buy anything

coupe or sedan makes no difference. neither does trans if you are switching to the same you already have. only thing maybe would be the lx does not have an abs light on it. and it wont have side airbag light (if you even have that)

so ur saying i wont needa take out all those pins and rewire it?

or are u saying i can just follow the excel spreadsheet and ill be good to go (with the exception of the ABS light)

well yea you have to rewire, since youre going from old style to new style.

You didn't have to read 14 pages...considering I did the exact same thing. I have an 01 M/T and I swapped for a 04 m/t from an LX Sedan.

I just ordered an 03-05 sedan cluster.... IM SO EXCITED!!!!!! So since I have a 2004 VP Coupe (which doesn't come with a tach) I won't have to do anything special to get the tach to work... right? Just wire it up like it says on the thingy. Correct?
