Re: LogicWavelength, drew22mader and dirtySAMURAI's Guide to Automotive Photography

i just read the first post~ good right up but missed some stuff... and i should fill it up. i wont goto detail and only important things or some addition..?

i'm not saying i'm a pro, but its from my own 3 - 4 years of experience doing it for myself and people and mags / e-zines, and yes i still have alot to learn.

anyways, here we go...

still shoot

1. clean the car, it will show in the picture, if u dont (specially when u do close up shot)

2. automotive photography is about the car not background.

3. if your doing angle shot make sure wheels are turned out not in.

4. make sure no light poll or any kind of poll are around / behind the car, it look like you got poll growing out of the car.

4. do not leave windows half open / closed either shoot with it fully closed or fully open.

5. do not leave the door(s) / hood / trunk open when you take a full shot of the car.

6. when you do shoot interior of the car with door open, try not to have door in the shot.

7. when do shoot engine bay, do not include hood only the bay.

rolling shoots

there are 3 different types of rolling shots. panning, tracing, and 1 more but u figure out... =P

1. panning - this is used alot in track (drag or circuit) yeap, camera stand still and follow the moving car.

2. tracing - this is bit harder, like it says your tracing the car with another car. have a car that your shooting either follow the car your in next to you (for front shot) or go ahead of you (for rear end shot)

3. last one is pretty much panning and tracing put together.

editing photos

before you start giving effects to the photo you should touch it up make it clean and sharp. i use level, color balance and layers the most and some different effect...

for example... (its my old photos)

if you got questions just ask i guess? hope this help you as well as the first post!
