.. haha.. seems like i answer most of yer posts.. i dont have a manual .. but i kno how to drive one.. juss remember to balance everything out.. the clutch is your friend.. if u feel the car begin to like.. die.. juss push down the clutch.. practice revving to like 2rpms and releasing the clutch.. evenly balance it.. wen u are at 2 rpms.. slowly let go of the clutch.. heels should be on the floor.. and use yer toes.. to push the gas and clutch in, its alot easier.. well for mee.. it is.. and always remember.. push the clutch to start the car.. and see if the car is in gear
it's a lot easier than some think and tell you...the clutch is your friend, as the other guy said, but don't like him too much or he'll burn out on you...good luck

you can't learn on paper man. your going to have to actually sit behind the wheel of one a couple times before you get the hang of it. ask a buddy of yours who drives stick to show you. i had the pleasure of learning on my friend's type-s.
I suggest you get someone to drive it home and to a big empty lot for you to practice in. Driving in traffic is not a good idea when you've never driven one before.
Actually, my sister learned to drive a standard kinda at a dealership. She said she was looking to buy a car, but she didnt know how to drive a stick, so they taught her how. If you are buying from a dealership, I suggest that. But I had someone explain it to me, and then it was just trial and error, after like 2 days or so of driving, it starts to become second nature.
its really not that hard once u get the hang of it
I still dont know if im that good of a manual driver yet only drivin like 2 times in a stick car------
i wish i have a manual now so much more fun the my stupid AUTO!!
Whatever you do...do NOT learn stick on a Viper. I did, and it was the worst! That clutch is so heavy, and the car is so powerful. I drove it for like 15min, and i gave up. Then my buddy (same guy with the Viper) said "ok, let try on my car" (the Viper was his dads), so we get in his highly modded 300ZX TT...that was even worse! The only good thing that came out of that whole expierence is that i got to drive a Viper, and i got to drive a 300ZX TT that was faster than a Viper before hittin the Nitrous.
