I must say, my local Honda dealer has treated me well and they are perfomance minded so they don't give me any grief. BTW I have 79,000 kms on my car and I was told the strut problem was covered to 100,000kms.

Hope this helps anyone who may think their warranty has expired.

so i have approx 35,ooo miles on my car and my warranty went out at the 3 yr mark. are you tellin me that this could still be covered!

from talking with dealerships i have come to learn that even off warranty if you own a civic ( any 7th gen) and it is having front suspension problems that they will replace them. However, when you get your car lowered and still use stock struts, most shops will cut the rubber bump stop to give it just that little bit extra clearance. So if u do go back to honda, even with putting stock springs back on, a good mechanic will notice.

When i had my struts replaced. if i did not have my extended warranty i would have had to pay for them out of pocket. you must have some pretty good dealers out there.

Should i take my car to the dealer and take them to look at it? (I have extended Warranty). hmmmm

i have 113,000 miles on my '01 civic (well beyond the warranty period) and I haven't noticed anything wrong (yet). maybe i'll have to have a mechanic look a them anyway and let me know if they're in bad shape.

I posted in the problems forums about this but I guess I should also ask it here. Is it a design problem or a quality thing? I just had mine replaced less than a month ago and they're blown again... I'm @ 61k miles.

Bump for this important topic that I am noticing more and more people still discussing.

BTW, My '01 Sedan has 66,000 on it. Completely stock. Should I take it to the dealer? Anyone heard of Rock Honda in Fontana? They're my dealer.

Thanks!

Hey guys, my gf has a 01 Civic (EX Coupe) and I think it has the problem as you guys described. She called the dealer and they said there is no recall. Her car has nearly 50K miles and I guess it's not under warranty anymore (?).

Anyway, should the dealer responsible for the fix? Or they just don't care? I live in Phoenix area, so if someone know which dealer is good around, PLEASE let me know.

Thanks!

Re: PLEASE READ: 2K1 Suspension Replaced

There is 2 TBS's out there, but if your out of warranty your coming out of pocket. I had my bushings replaced by a local mechanic for about $300. Now I am saving up for springs and struts. The sad thing in my case was when it was my ex-wife's car she was suppose to take it in and get it fixed but never did. I got stuck with the car a month after the warranty ran out. Such as life.
