Let me answer your questions too...

The stock endlinks end up breaking for some people and hold up for others. I hear that they break more for people who have upgraded rear sway bars and do autocross, or generally abuse their car more. hehe...

As for the exhaust, the Progress sway bar clears the stock exhaust, but just barely. I have a picture of that in the DIY. It's very close. Mine rubbed some of the paint off of the sway bar after a while. I put a piece of duct tape over it, but it rubbed through that too after a while.

As for the last question... Yes! No problem. The EX has a stock rear sway bar, 2002+ LX's do too. It's not an issue for you. You will just be able to buy the Progress sway bar and bolt it right in.

The car performed very nicely after the sway bar installation. I actually install both front and rear sway bars, so I can tell you a little bit about how both of them work (and how they work together). The rear sway bar alone (with my 25.4mm stock 2001 LX front sway bar) performed well, but there was a little too much oversteer. On highway on-ramps and off-ramps the car wanted to kick the rear out a little too early. Autocross people may be satisfied with this combination since they like to turn as fast as possible and accelerate as quickly as possible in low to mid-speed turns. Highway on-ramps and off-ramps are different. You can go 70mph on some of them (even 80mph with the right tires).

Anyway, I then tried out only the front. The front made the car oversteer too much, but it wasn't scary to get near the limit. The car was slower with just the front sway bar upgraded vs. with just the rear sway bar upgraded though. I then installed both front and rear and drove around like that for a long long time. Actually, they're still on the car! I like this setup the most. It stiffened things up a lot, but not too much. It's not insane. The car does react differently over uneven bumps though. It sways! Maybe that's why we call them sway bars? hehe... Anyway, on smooth roads it's a dream. You can change lanes quicker. You can corner a lot faster (the tires don't lose traction as soon as they would without them).

The drop doesn't matter. I was dropped with the Hayame's and my Progress sway bars and I didn't see any problems. Didn't measure how much I was dropped, but I had maybe a 1 finger gap? 2 finger gap?

As far as the price... I'm not sure? I bought mine a long long time ago (in a galaxy far far away...). They're now more expensive. Look around though, I'm sure you'll find the best price. Try Froogle.com.

Mine is making too much noise. Were you able to fix your noise?

There is one big thing I noticed just now.




You see the bolt that going through the tie bar into the sway bar I didn't put it.

I only put the two on the side that go through the bushings of the anti-roll bar and go through the tie bar to the price linking the control arms.

Hey grey, some of the guys were getting metal clicking sounds coming from the improved endlinsk you made.



I suspect the noise is coming from the area I'm pointing to. When the bearing rotates and there is metal to metal contact.

I was wondering if I was to silicone in those areas all the way around if it would it get rid of the sound.

I this these are the hotchkis, they have rubber in that area, I guess they knew about the noise issue.

I was having the same noise issue and I agree with you Nindoo; I think the noise comes from the vibration between the rod end and the bearing.
Just get some grease for suspension parts from your local auto parts(I used Mobil1 grease) and lube them up right on that area, it'll silence the endlinks a lot, but eventually you'll have to regrease them again in about 2-3 months.

I'm not a mechanic, but I'm sure there is an easy way to get a durable rubber washer type piece (made for this purpose) and place it inbetween those points and lube it. I just don't know what to buy exactly.

I thought that too, but it turns out that those black pieces on the Hotchkis endlinks are hardened metal coated with black phosphorous.

I'm working on an improved version of my endlinks with rubber isolators that take away the vibration. I haven't had time to test them yet. I'll keep you posted though...

I'm lookng forward to get the adapters in the future for my 01Lx as well.

I believe the kit includes end-links and adaptors for the rear lower control arms

Cool, cool. How would I go about attaching an rsx bar back there. Do I need the tie bar? I already have end links so I'm looking to buy a rear disk brake swap so I can have sway bar mounts already on the arm. I figure the 125 bucks for the adapter kit will go a long ways towards a new set of brakes.

Im having noise issues with my installation so I need help

So yesterday I installed the sway bar and after installation I saw that there was no clearance between the sway bar and the GReddy exhaust. The exhaust noise seamed more louder for some reason. So this morning I re-adjusted my endlinks. My passager side endlink was higher than my driver side. Let me show you some pics so you can see what I'm talking about.

So as you can see, the threaded part was higher on my passager side. I was able to lower it this morning and put it down to the same height as my driver side and that gave it a little bit of clearence but now the exahust is rattling. So what did I do wrong? Is the bar upside down? can you guys tell by the pictures??? Do I have to adjust the D-Brackets??

Looks like I have the top part of the endlink the wrong way??
