hey-
what's up. my name is jeff, and i just found and joined the site. I have driven a 97 civic HX for 5 years, and just bought a 02 EX coupe. I decided I'm going to mod this one, so I bought the OEM kit and wing and will put them on this weekend. I also ordered some 17" konig toxxins with 205/40's, and a pair of TYC euro's. I think I want to drop the ride a little. Remember, I'm new to this stuff, and read the FAQ's and searched. I would like any suggestions that you guys have. Should I go with just springs or coilovers. This will be for everyday driving, I will most likely not be racing. Any brand? I was thinking about skunk2 coilovers or eibach sportline springs. Any thoughts? Also, I know my way around a car pretty well. Is this something I can do myself? Sorry if this annoys some of the members that have been here for a while, I know what it's like. But remember, we all have to start somewhere. Thanks in advance for all your suggestions and thoughts.

i think neuspeed sports would be perfect for you.. its about a 1.7 and 1.5 drop. it leaves like a 2 finger gap all around but it should be fine since you have a kit. eibach sports are like .1-.2 inches higher and the price is like $50 more thats why i recommend neuspeed. i have them on my stock shocks right now, right isn't THAT badd, almost like stock. as for you installing it yourself, read my diy up above and decide whether you think you could do it or not.... coilovers.. heard the ride really sucks on those

well i got skunk 2 and they were real bouncy when i had them lowered as far as they can go but i raised up the front coils now and i will tell u it rides nice as hell it still hugs the road as if they were slammed. So I'm going to say skunk2 for my opinion. But so far it sounds like u have a good start on ur project car keep up the good work.
If you want to be able to raise and lower it at your leisure, I'd go with coilovers. Not coilover springs necessarily, as I've heard they ride kind of rough. B+G makes a NICE set of full coilovers, but they run over 1K dollars, so I don't know if that's an option for you. If it's going to be a daily driver, and you want a nice ride with a moderate drop, I'd go with Goldline springs. They drop 1.5-2 inches, so it's not too extreme. I've heard nothing but praise about they're ride quality, and they're priced competitively. In addition, you'll want to get a camber kit (some will tell you it's not necessary, but I'd recommend it) and eventually a new set of shocks. The only options we really have right now are the Koni Yellows (I've heard some good and some bad about these) and the Bec-Tec shocks (pretty new, search for Bec Tec and you'll pull up a thread on them; Dimsum ordered them, and we're all waiting on his review). The Konis are actually not a full shock replacement (they modify your stock shocks, so you can't go back to stock afterwards) and run around 550. The Bec-Tec's are a full shock replacement and run for 600 or less. Good Luck!!!
