How low can you go ?

What is the maximum point you can lower a civic coupe ( 2002 ) w. 18X7.5 rims & 215/40/18'S without a camber kit? i will prob get new shocks and struts though. Car shops around here are charging $1000 plus for a shock & strut install with coilovers and camber kits. thats some serous green. and charging $100-300 for just camber kits.

I believe it is after 1.5" drop regarless the size of rim

if you shave your fenders, you can probably drop the car up to 4 or 5 inches. my car is dropped almost 3 inches without any mods to the wheel well and i have 18s. theres never any rubbing

Yeah, after about 1.5 or 2 inches of drop, you're gonna need a camber kit no matter what size rim you have. You can contact Lightning Motorsports to see what kind of deal they can get you on a camber kit. I got mine (front and back) for $120, and it's easy to install yourself. I think our cars look pretty good with 1.5" drop springs and 18s. If you went that way, you probably wouldn't need a camber kit. And there's still a bit of a gap, but it's nothing compared to stock.

BTW, shocks and struts are the same thing.......and will not make a difference in ride height or camber angle. What they will do is take away that bouncy ride you get from blown struts.

flexex, what size tires do you have? i'm guessing 215-35..

I have 215/35/18 and have my ride lowered 1.4" and I think it is perfect! It looks tight and I still don't need a camber kit. I would say go no more that 1.5" and you should be just fine!
