The only part of the warranty that this will affect is your struts, and any problems they can prove the stuts caused while being lowered.

I just got back from my Acura dealer for service, and I saw a tricked out CL Type S with Comptech springs, and I asked the service manager if they installed them, and about voiding the warranty; he told me that It will only void the warranty for the struts.

you can read your manual and all the information you are askin about is in there....lowering does affect your warrenty.....if something happens and they can find fault with the springs/coils, then the problem won't be covered. for sure the struts aren't covered. and if a problem occurs because of the struts or something else that broke due to the suspension, it is not covered. im takin my ride in this week to get my routine maintenence done...i will tell you what they say about my coils...

its not up to the dealer. when u get a warranty its done through honda (assuming you have a honda) the only way they can refuse to work on the car is if the lowering of the car affected the problem directly. There is a law stating that aftermarket parts only void warranty if they result in a direct cause of the accident.

and if your dealer refuses. take it to another: btw i hate my dealer (rusty wallis they suck)

They told me at the dealer around here he would allow a 1.5 drop but thats it without voiding anything. Asked if 17" wheels would void anything and he told me NO, just curious if like a 225/45 Tire would void any warranties? Or does it matter on tire size?

Someone on this site just became a Honda dealer, so you might wanna PM him. Also when you mess with suspension, (just guessing) can't they void other things that affect your suspension??? Like the cvc boot(i think that's what you call it) or anything like the bushings, lower control arms, tie rod , and whatever stuff that deals with the suspension. Note, that I'm not sure, and just kinda asking the question myself.

Here's my 2 cents on this: When I bought my car, I especifically asked about suspension modifications because I had yet to drive on a stock suspension and I was not going to buy the car if that would void the warranty. The dealership and I came to an agreement: I could order the springs and camber kit through them, then have the dealership service dept install the package and set it to fgactory specs. This would be the only way I could keep my warranty.

Long story short; I did this and so far have had a better camber kit and two rear struts replaced--all under warranty.

AlexLx: Yeah man, I agree...I went to them first to test drive a VW GTI and a Honda. In both cases, they were adamant that if I so much as got different wheels, they would not honor the warranty on suspension and related parts...they definitely suck!

Moral of the story: Speak with your dealer and try to have them either recommend and/or install the parts for you...more expensive, but worth every dime if something needs replacing later.
