they use rods in the front? how? i thought you couldnt with mcpherson struts.. also you could use strut bags from CCE air for the front.. i'm sure that would lower the car more then the rods.

Yeah thats what the Hack Shack kit comes with. So far this is the only kit that I know of that is out for the civic. If anyone else knows of another kit let me know.
do you know how the air rods work in the front? did they fabricate the control arm?
here's the front strut bag from chassis tech http://www.kmwperformance.com/
i think air ride is supposed to come out with a bolt on kit soon too..
Hey thanks for the info but I dont think I could trust a company that I have never heard of before, when it comes to air rides. The only companies that I know are good quality, is Hack Shack (EAI) or AIMS. Rickey racer (Blow jax) is one of the companies you need to stay clear of.
ya i heard blowjax sucks, their compressers are loud as hell...
as for chassis tech, i think AIM sells their products.
as for air ride, i'm not sure what their exact name is but they are pretty big as well. their mainly known for trucks and just started on imports.
Yes ther is a kit for the 2k1 Civic that works and works well. i am the one that did the install on the kit from hack shack. i have installed many kits before and this on was not a problem. the car did NOT use a strut bag setup like other car with the McPherson strut, it uses a can that can withstand 600,000 lb of side pressure before it breaks. the only down side to the kit is that the rear bag cup has to be welded in so its going to cost some money to get it cut out. and yes like others have said before the kit does use a firestone air bag. the kit cost my customer 2500.00 and 800.00 for install. it took me about 3 day to complete the job. if anyone on here can host some pictures for then ill email them to you so that you all can see that the kit does work and does exist. also anyone on this forum that some to me and wants the it installed ill give you the kit for 2100.00 instaed of the 2500.00 but labor is going to be the same seeing as how i have to weld in the rear.........

the front can is a full replacment can for the strut. the rear will not allow a can due to the different angels that is goes through so only a bag will work. i sent you those pictures, let me know when you get them up on a site so that i can post them else were.........
i sent you an e-mail but i guess you didnt read it... well i was just basically asking if you had pictures of the actual rods/bags themselves.
i'm curious to see how different companies make air rides for our cars. cause i know chassis tech uses rods in the rear and strut bags in the front. to be this sounds better cause i've heard of people popping bags, and the rear you could see the springs very easily. as the front, you could hardly see them at all.
So does this kit ride smooth with little or no bounce and why did you say it looks like it has blown shocks? Does it bounce a lot or ride smooth like air rides should ride?
air suspension isnt really known for performance, mainly for show purposes. you can adjust the height but you cant really control the damper settings. but then i guess this is for serious auto-x people. if your just a daily driver looking to take corners at 20mph then it should be fine depending on the setup. it would have to be a FBSS setup cause if it was just a FB your car would be swaying too much. well unless if they're some sort of way to seperate each corner... but why would you even want a FB setup anyways . also keep in mind springs/coilover/bags arent the only suspension mod, sway bars, strut, tie bars all help out cornering...
