05 honda civic dx clunking front end

where is EZONE)

I got 2005 sedan civic dx . I had bad oem struts so two years ago I replaced the struts with monroe and new duralast top bearing and mount.

Before no noise just weak struts... after i installed them i had some weird pop no biggie.. recently i got a lots of clunking like a bad bearing. I replaced the mounts and bearings again with duralast.. I still have the clunking.I checked the ball joints new, control arms bushing replaced pretty new. new tie rods. no play anywhere.bearing is fine, and no thorn cv boots. When i did the last mounts and bearings I checked the monroe struts look fine. Clunking only happens . It sound like a bad bearing and mounts. How can that be.
Its not my first job, The alignment marks are facing outward, of the car on the correct side with spring installed the right way.
Can it be the quality mounts from duralst? I dont recall having this problem with my warn out oem struts and mounts and bearings. yes the car is aligned.

Re: 05 honda civic dx clunking front end

some struts require the plastic bearings from the older 7th gens. are the duralast plastic or metal?

Re: 05 honda civic dx clunking front end

I replaced my front struts 2 years ago with KYB.

Last year started hearing clunking over bumps.

Had both LCAs replaced. Noise gone. Both compliance bushings were torn.

I put in kyb quick struts in the front no issues at all. good product. put gabriel struts in the back also no issues at all. However I didn't get rid of all my front end clunks until i changed out the front bearings too.good luck.
