Civic 2002 sway bar links

Hello guys, i m new here and i need some help/advise from you.
With the wheels on the ground i noticed that both (front) have a gap. (easy with the hand i can turn them) is that ok? or should be fixed? are not bent or broken.
Thanks.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: Civic 2002 sway bar links

I kinda meant the gap part you mentioned. That's what I couldn't picture in my head.
What I see in your pic looks normal to me.

Yes they are supposed to be able to pivot a bit, both ends of each link are comprised of a ball-and-socket type joint with a threaded stud sticking out.

like i said, are not bent or broken. only that gap worried me, very easy to move it when the wheels are on the ground.

Re: Civic 2002 sway bar links

i thought they should be solid and with no movement (because of the 4 rivets on the side). But from what i understand needs to be replaced only if are broken?

Re: Civic 2002 sway bar links

They can become noisy as wear develops between the ball stud and nylon liner. You would be able to feel it as a small amount of free play when you grab the ends of the sway bar and push/pull up and down.

The 4 dots you see are what secures the nylon liner into the cup area.
