Coilover's vs Springs/struts

Which is better for a daily driver? Coilovers or springs/struts. I'm looking for a sensable ride not a beast. I don't want something that's dumped or tucked or anything stupid like that. Just to lower the wheel gap. Would coilovers be good or is it going to make me feel every bump I hit? I have a set of Eibach sportlines right now, but I can get a set of coilovers for 400 bucks right now so i'm just trying to get an idea of which would be a better choice for me.

Shocks/springs for the win for what you want. Nice drop + comfortable ride.

Re: Coilover's vs Springs/struts

coilovers are much stiffer than springs/struts. If you want the looks and not the performance, go with springs. I regretted buying my coilovers till this day.

coilovers will drop you or raise you pretty much any height that you want...pretty much you control it

Re: Coilover's vs Springs/struts

How often do ppl adjust coilovers seriously? To each their own coilovers are pimp but I wouldn't recommend them if you live in area with harsh roads.

Re: Coilover's vs Springs/struts

well go with a good full coilover like tein basic or SS. i just cant justify the cost of replacements. im really happy with tokico hp and eibach springs. you cant adjust it, but new shocks are relatively cheap and the ride is good. and dont forget to add up all the other required addons like camber kits, alignment, install, etc. it adds up fast.

if you just want a lower wheel gap then go with the cheaper setup.

at this point the coilovers are cheaper than the springs struts combo.
